  1. The problem is that Parayko won’t keep it going. He’s extremely inconsistent. I remember when the league was talking about him being a future top 5 defenseman in the league. Skating, shot, size. Paraykos problem I’m has always been his demeanor. He has zero grit. He needs a physical partner. He has to have that to be at that level consistently.

  2. You have 4 undersized offensive D-men big money. Faulk, krug, Leddy and Perunivich when he comes back. And Parayko that plays an undersized game. That’s 5 offensive minded defenders. The blues really need to find a way to shed 2 of them. It’s ok to have 3 offensive minded max. But you have to pair them with responsible partners. To be honest after winning the cup, army did a number on this defense. He took the main reason this team won a cup (biggest physical defense in the league) and dismantled that idea. For the amount of money the blues spent on this current D the blues could have kept petro, kept edmundson, signed Faulk or krug (not both) and built a dominant defense around them.
You could have had petro, Faulk, Parayko and edmundson with Perunivich in the pipeline and an open slot for a prospect to fill or trade deadline add like that chaycherin guy. It is so frustrating to see how much army has botched this defense. My point is that for $2 million extra you keep petro over krug. And you don’t get Leddy. And have to keep edmundson who I think was a hugely underrated part of this team anyway. I get that’s the past. But It’s so simple and stupid.

  3. I actually think the Blues had a great weekend. Yes, they did lose to Vegas but they outplayed Vegas in that game and it took a lucky bounce off a Vegas players visor to get the deciding goal. Vegas looked like they were just hanging on trying to survive, which they did but it's something to build on.
