    Its announced that this is the 1st ever Native American tribe to be an NHL sponsor and letting indigenous youth to participate in the area, as well having indigenous artwork in their arena

    It should say Muckleshoot First Nation and not Indian Tribe. The NHL and Seattle Kraken have to realize that in Canada a lot of our First Nations peoples take offence to the term Indian and the NHL covers Canada as well as the US

    As part of my education I have done some effort to learn a fair bit about the indigenous population, their culture, and struggles. This ad is less of an ad for money (though I imagine the Tribe will profit from it) but the message. Sort of to learn about the history of Indigenous peoples and the history of racism and abuse they have suffered which still exists today and acknowledge that the land many of us are on is Aboriginal land first. So good on the Kraken and the logo on the jersey actually looks pretty nice to boot.

    I'm also not an expert on the native tribes, but do live in Seattle and cover the team. The Muckleshoot are one of a few tribes that called what is now Seattle home. Some people have been critical of this because the Muckleshoot tribe (who's reservation is now limited to some land near Auburn about half an hour on a good day away from Seattle) also have one of the bigger casinos in the area, so some se this as a casino ad. Obviously however they went out of their way to NOT include the word "casino" on the patch at all plus it's not really the fault of tribes that that is how they have to make money now. There is though also an issue with another tribe from the area (the Duwamish) whom have been trying for a long time to get more legal recognition, and bigger tribes getting more attention could hurt that as I understand it (again not an expert so I could be a bit off).

    That all said, although I don't like ads on jerseys (or helmets still) if they are going to have one I think this is about as good as it gets. It matches fairly well and is an ad to give attention to a marginalized group whom used live on the land the team now plays on, and does so without directly advertising gambling which has its issues. Honestly it looks less like an ad to me and more like a commemorative patch of some kind.

    to give you a rundown on what the Muckleshoot is they are a tribe of Native Americans from the seattle area/pacific northwest. their land is pretty much the whole of western washington

    Who cares what it looks like! ENOUGH! Why are today's Hockey fans so complacive?! Was it not just 5-8 yrs ago when just the rumor about jersey adds infuriated fans and Bettman had to do an announcement that there the NHL had no intention to do jersey adds. WTF happened?!!!!!! Is the jersey no longer seen as sacred?! Is today's Hockey fans just don't care about the game? Adds on jersey's, adds on helm, adds all over the ice, boards, now digital adds on the ice, glass even digital adds over the board adds, we have adds over adds! All this with digital clock on ice for penalty time, digital highlites of players on ice with black digital lines for the puck (anyone remember when Hockey fans went nuts when fox tv did that, how much it was hated), plus add extra bight led adds some places have by the stairs. Why not do an episode on this!!!!! Do you think fans of any other sport would put up with this?! WHY do you!? It looks good who give a FK! Before you start I am indigenous and they can pay respect with out a jersey add much as Chicago does. Today's game sucks to watch! and with the skill level being the highest it is the NHL is ruining the game and Hockey fans don't care. And to think we used to make fun of European Hockey for the same reasons, now look at us.

    The Muckleshoot are actually a Native American tribe that lived (or lives) in the Pacific Northwest. They have a reservation there.

    There should not be any ads on jerseys there's the digital boards myself dizzy I'm sure I'm not the only one there's ads on the ice there's ads on the players helmets already I know the NHL wants money but come on can we get back to hockey please

    its a casino add if it wasn't for the casino it wouldn't be there…..death to adds on NHL jerseys…. And remove any notion of gambling from our sports

    You definitely pronounced it correctly. I am really looking forward to this. Tributes the muckleshoot tribe. Which has a reservation in the PNW area. Which is an excellent touch. And lets go kraken!!!!!!
