I have some controversial yet brave opinions:
* OV probably doesn’t belong on the ice in OT except on a PP. He’s such a liability defensively.
* Backstrom doesn’t belong on the ice in OT except on a PP.
* If your plan for the OT PP is zero finesse, just OV blasting it repeatably, you don’t need Backstrom out there, just fast guys to retrieve the puck.
* The NHL is going to put a clock on each shootout shot.

Lindgren’s rust was apparent to start (not saying every goal was on him).. I’d much prefer him to start every 2-3 games instead of these long stretches of inactivity. They’re both talented (re: December) let them both play
I pointed out that Mantha fucked up on the fourth goal scored by the Sabres by literally covering no one on r/hockey. He ended up getting benched after that and I would not be surprised if he gets benched for Friday’s game.
