Give me a bunch of places who deserve an NHL Franchise more than Atlanta, I'll start: My uncle's backyard
Houston and Atlanta are two cities with large black populations and are considered to be “black cities” Black people at large are not into hockey. These two cities would be horrific choices. Atlanta is literally called the “black mosaic” and this is coming from a black man.
Well if you want another Canadian team they must go through Atlanta first

Hockey is growing here man in the USA and in Georgia and we would most definitely support the Atlanta thrashers and they would be huge here!! Stop hating man we need a NHL team really bad!! The NHL has got my hopes up and hopefully they actually give us one. Believe!!! Be Blessed!!
Whether they expand or relocate a team(Arizona) I know one thing is for sure. Quebec is not getting a team.
Please for the love of God, give the longsuffering Quebec City fans a team. The league is better with the Nordiques in it. I understand that it is a hub of hockey, and that they are still going to generate hockey revenue but to me that feels like exploitation. And while I am not strategic in the business sense, I do know that this generation coming up looks at that phenomenon unfavorably and they do speak with their wallets.
Therre is no way the NHL is gonna expand more. We're gonna end up with 90 game seasons
Thrashers had fans, they only left because of having no arena
Give New Orleans or Baton Rouge a team there is a surprising market there especially in Baton Rouge and the stars would make a good rival too
Hockey failed royally in Atlanta twice due to bad ownership. Tom Cousins was handed the Flames in an expansion because the NHL was getting worried about the WHA at the time. It was fun down there at first, but Tom couldn't manage a sports franchise so he shipped them off to Calgary less than 9 years later.
Thrashers were doomed the moment Atlanta Spirit Group bought them along with the Hawks from that terrible AOL/Time Warner buyout. ASG didn't care one it about the Thrashers. Just 7 guys battling in courts over contracts rather than the hockey team.

The only thing that is good about this (if it happens & if they become the thrashers again) is that the thrashers have some of the best nhl jerseys.
The thing with Thrashers was that it wasn't a lack of fan support, It was horrible Management and Ownership. Then the 2008 recession happened.
I miss The Thrashers because that was the only hockey after moving from Pittsburgh, but to be honest, QUBEC deserves it more than ANY CITY PERIOD!
