@Islanders de New York

Nice to see Brock Nelson get 30 goals for his second consecutive year. He also has a career-high in points.

  2. Lane needs to go. His overall body of work has been abysmal. It'll be interesting to see what happens to Lambert or Lou if the Islanders don't make the playoffs. And even if they do and get eliminated in the first round.

  3. I think the problem with Horvat is that they keep changing his linemates. The guy plays with different people every few games. Once they find a stable combination for him, he'll be ok.

  4. They should’ve played Varly. They should show much more confidence in him!

  5. A game isles should have won against a team way below them in standings. Unlike two az. games, habs, van, sens, and so on… Thanks lane 'i can have isles ready part of the time just not all the time'.

  6. Hey Gil. Their pp has been bad since Tavares was on the Island. Everyone always points the finger at the pp coaches. Its not. Its the personnel. Isles don't have nearly enough offensive minded players to have a good pp. Hell, they could just set up a shot and look for rebounds like old school pps, but they don't even do that. This team full of vets should be ready to go at the drop of the puck. No excuses. Horvat will be fine. Opposing teams top D are focusing on him and Brock. He will break out.

  7. If Bailey doesn't make sense on the first line with Horvat and Lee…Who does make sense there?

  8. Carl Palmarie was great in this victory!! I need to get bo horvat going here!! Hopefully Saturday Brock Nelson was great too!!!! GO ISLES!!!

  9. Hey Gil – For this team to have success they must play Sorokin every game you can and though unpopular Bailey must continue to be held out of the lineup due to his lazy play and turnovers. I'd like to see Wotherspoon get a game and take Aho out or even Mayfield.

  10. Great podcast as always Gil. I look forward to your show. In my opinion, because I love both of our goalies. Varlamov should have gotten the start last night. He would have won the game as well. Should have given Sorokin his rest. Resting him would've pay great dividends down the stretch. Plus, I think it's important for both our goalies to know we have confidence in winning no matter who is the goal keeper.

  11. Engvall needs to keep that dawg in him. Very impressed with Pierre. Palms needs to play like that every game. Dude has a nice shot.

  12. Hi Gil-awesome show as always my Islander friend! Well—Palmeri made me eat my words. He’s a hard worker—hustles and deserved results. I wish he could be consistent. I mentioned how Engval reminds me of Nelson so much. Remember Gil—it took Brock years to get to where he’s at—-it was a slow progression to be an excellent hockey player. I see a lot of potential and a lot of Brock at his age—-he’s not a youngster but he’s progressing I feel. At least Lane told me this was a must win by playing Sorro. Yet—-still too many unforced errors Gil—-to beat Boston ya just can give the puck away like this. Dobson has been real bad—-kept an eye on him yesterday—all you have to do as an opposing player is go “BOO” and he coughs up the puck. I’m disappointed with him this year. Aho is another one that has made me eat crow—-kid has learned to play “Angle Defense” and plays it well. His balance has improved because his angles have improved! Kid can fly and break out and I’m glad we kept him! Finally Bo? Not worried about Bo—he’s too solid a player to worry about. Must win against lowly Sharks—-no excuses—-gotta take that one too—-worry about the leafs next week. Rest up boys—-LGI!! Take care Gil!!
