  1. LFR G69 is a sad video indeed . You took a person and injected a lot of opinions of your own. Last I saw Reimer is the same guy you “admired “. You knew his Christian beliefs were super important to him when he was a leaf. What has changed. Maybe it’s you, with your million plus viewers. Media ppl are SO intimidated by cancel culture. Sad Sad day indeed. Unsubscribed

  2. I dont get why everyone gets so upset with someone not wanting to promote lgbtq community, everyone has their own take on it. Can we call it freedom if we cant express our opinion?

  3. Great lfr….however I think your wrong with your James comments. Sad part in this day and age will live in you can't have a different veiw. Oh you will say you can but you have to deal with the repercussions blah blah blah 🙄

  4. I hope Reimer sees this and reconsiders his position. Doubtful though. Gotta imagine he's built himself quite the Bigot Entourage over the years.

  5. Some people are leaders some are followers..he ain't no sheep he chooses his own path..doesn't mean he's not there ..what bull……
Is this hockey or politics…stick to hockey………….

  6. "What is it about who someone is that's so wrong?" 20:07 Yet earlier you literally implied that James Reimer is a bad person for who he is. 18:50

You keep going on about YOUR personal beliefs. This is my issue with your opinion Steve. It's hypocritical. You can have your beliefs and James Reimer can have his beliefs.

Reimer isn't forcing ANYBODY to support his beliefs. THAT'S the difference.

  7. You should really stick to Leafs related things, I know that Reimer played for the Leafs but it's a very touchy situation that you shouldn't give your opinion on. The odds are a lot of people will unsubscrube and stop watching.

  8. Reimers religion does not make him a bad guy. There are alot of Christians who would, and some who wouldn’t wear the jersey. Nobody is to be judged by their religion- even in this case.

  9. I think what is so frustrating to me is that the statement "I respect you but can't support you" is just the same bigotry I've seen my entire life. "Love the sinner, hate the sin", "Being gay is a choice", calling it a lifestyle- us queer fans know what he means by that. Hatred and ignorance with a smile is hatred and ignorance at its core. There are dozens of little things the Bible tells us not to do that we as an evolved society have decided are outdated but that this is the one people will plant their flag in the earth for is really heart-breaking.

So I'd remind anyone not understanding why queer fans are so angry about this, that our anger comes from something deeper than just refusing to put on a jersey. It's the constant reminders that we're wrong, that we're unwanted, that we don't belong. The outrage inherently comes from a place of hurt and sadness.

On a lighter note- that shootout took years off my life, by round 5 we should just make the goalies play rock, paper, scissors at center ice.

  10. So we finally have the answer to the question I didn't think I would ever ask. What does Steve love more, virtue signalling or James Reimer? The answer appears to be virtue signalling. I'm pro LGBT and atheist myself, but the best faith interpretation of what Reimer said is that he doesn't want to be looked at or think of himself as gay, but doesn't mind everyone else looking like or being gay. Reimer said nothing about gay people being evil or anything of the like he made it 50000000% clear it was just about him. However, a virtue signallers brain will find a way to twist it even if they like the person, then push sports betting which causes a way greater harm to society than a guy not wearing a pride jersey…all about that $.

  11. You are insinuating that he is wrong for his choice……you say you have a choice to critique Reimer……that is how the woke tries to cancel anothers choice……..if you ever decided to read the book Reimer reads…..its clear….however I believe you are wrong….and we don't cancel you…

  12. If hockey was an inclusive sport…don cherry would still be hnic…in stead he is canceled by the new inclusive club

  13. For the last 3 months we have known it will be Leafs v Lightning in the 1st Round. And it really doesn't matter who is 2 or 3 in the Match-up. Tampa Bay beat Toronto on a Road Game in Game 7. The Leafs can beat Tampa Bay in a Game 7 at Amalie Arena. Tampa Bay beat Montreal last night. Brandon Hagel a Hat Trick. The Lightning are rounding into form at the right time. I believe Toronto v Boston in the 2nd Round is destiny. But no one has told Tampa Bay their run is over. That is the worry. The Lightning are vampires. Talented Vampires.

  14. Jesus never said one word against any LGBT person or lifestyle, James Reimer. Stop being so much of a "Christian" and try to be more of a "Christ". I always liked Reimer as a player, too, but Steve is right, it's pretty sad.

  15. Calling disagreement over something because it's their belief should not be categorized as hate. To believe that the gay lifestyle is not honoring evangelical Christianity is disagreeing with the lifestyle not hating the actual gay people. If one cannot disagree without having to give up their evangelical belief system shows intolerance on the so called progressive side.

  16. Great recap as usual. Wasn't expecting the Reimer issue to be addressed and was caught a bit off guard. You say it's not about forcing him to wear the jersey and then proceed to tell us how it sucks he didn't wear the jersey. I am old enough to remember a time when social issues weren't a part of sports. We used sports to bring us together and to forget about the world. Those days are gone and I find it sad because it leaves us with these types of moments where we focus on what someone does as opposed to the game. The same people who say Kaepernick is within his rights to kneel for the anthem are the very ones who say Reimer (The Wild, The Rangers, and Ivan P from the Flyers) need to wear a jersey. I am coming on the side of letting all expressions take place. I would never kneel for the anthem but I respect the right of the players that do. I have many friends from the LGBTQA+ community and support them, I respect Reimer (et al) to choose not to wear a jersey. To me you can't pick and choose what form of protest, is right. Or only side with causes that you agree with. Reimer isn't a terrible person for not wearing a jersey. It would have been much easier for him to wear the jersey and avoid this whole thing. He made a choice, I respect that and his right to make it. Kaepernick made a choice to kneel for the anthem. Easier for him to stand and sing along, he didn't and I respect that and his right to do it. Not sure who the "nasty" people are who make comments. I don't see many on here and didn't like the assumption that any opposition would be nasty. My big wish is that sports be sports, that social issues and politics can be left off the playing field and that we use sports to remind us of what unites us. However that is unlikely to happen, so my stance is anyone wishing to protest or make statements be allowed to make them. Keep up the great work!

  17. Maybe one day Steve will realize it's actually possible to respect a group of people and think they should be included without supporting them. I have never, and probably will never outwardly support veganism, but that doesn't mean I hate vegans or think they shouldn't be included. The fact you can't respect Reimer's choice tell's me you're much more intolerant than him

  18. Great points on the Reimer issue Steve, especially with the background you two have. I have to admit I get a little confused at times about this issue but I don't get confused about the fact that these are human beings. My opinion is if your religion actually stops you from doing what's right, then you need to question your religion. And yes, it is that simple

  19. Not enthusiastically participating is disappointing and repulsive. My father, as most of you know, had a penchant for buggery. It should be made universally mandatory!

  20. so we know how steve feels about reimer, hes a stain on a white rug!! its sad youd just toss the guy because of an opinion, is that not what you fighting against?

  21. @SteveDangle thank you for addressing this! I think a big misconception people have about Pride is you are supporting the sexuality of the LGBTQ community. In reality, it is about supporting a group of humans who have been persecuted and marginalized. So regardless of religion, what the bible says, or how you interpret what it says, it has nothing to do with their sexuality. Before people bring up the freedom argument. I respect his choice not to wear it. My problem comes with his contradictory statement. Also, I am still a fan of Reimer and also wished he would make a Leaf comeback.

  22. Not everyone accepts the intrusion of the overrepresented and unnatural beings promoted in a completely unrelated field. If there was a “Christian Night” and all players were “given a choice” to wear the jersey, would you criticize those who wouldn’t wear the jersey? It’s based on their beliefs, one way or another, so would it make those players “bad people?”

  23. It's ok that Riemer lost your support Steve. Until you get it through your narrow head that people can beleive other things and actually have morals, and not supporting an event celebrating sexuality DOES NOT EQUAL hatred, you're going to keep getting upset. Keep your soapbox garbage for your podcasts, and not on game reactions

  24. Steve luv u and ur entitled to ur oppinion but u literally said at the end if we dont support lgbtq we r assholes yea thats wrong u cant say u have ur oppion then call people assholes for there oppinion

  25. Zero respect for Dangle now smh. Reimer is free to refuse to wear something if it goes against his own beliefs. Tolerance is understanding that people may have different views then your own. It seems Dangle like many in the media fail to understand the difference between tolerance and validation. If the NHL wants to be a diverse league it needs to understand that its players may have diverse views on a set of issues. Nobody is being harmed by someone refusing to wear a jersey,

Everyone's free to play hockey, their isn't a need for these celebration nights.

  26. Grateful to you for speaking up about Reimer and Pride Night, and agree 100% with your comments. Thank you 👏👏👏

  27. you made me cry a little the end there, steve. thank you for making lfr a welcoming, inclusive space
