1. Trap games are called that because of one simple reason – human nature. In this case, the Chicago game on Monday is a classic trap game. first, the first game at home after a long road trip is always difficult to play because you tend to relax and almost rely more on your crowd than yourselves to get up for the game, and that never works. second, they know good and well who and what Chicago is this year, they also know about Pittsburgh, and if you think that thoughts of Pitt aren't creeping into their minds then you would be mistaken. So, yes, trap games are real, but you are also correct in saying that if they lose this game it is solely on them (unless they get absolutely goalied) because they're smart enough and veteran enough to recognize a trap for what it is, and hopefully know how to prepare themselves to avoid the trap.

  2. Over the course of the last 4 games, really Ottawa was the only team that made me nervous. The Avs let the Sens back into that game and obviously they were a bit gassed from the tough fought Leafs game…… Lighting up Husso was fun to see and of course, 10 straight wins over the Wings! #GoAvsGo

  3. Starting to really like Eller. Not flashy but he’s great with possession in the offensive zone which we’d been missing with our bottom six most of the year. Giving the Avs more scoring chances and plays a bit like Lehky minus the speed. That’s going to pay off in the playoffs and nice having another guy who’s scored a cup clinching goal on the team 😉

  4. Shaggys Knick's wooped up on my Nuggets, thats ok though lol, were all just Avalanche people here
(Still think we are getting a NBA final in Denver, id rather have back to back cups or both)

  5. It was a very good road trip, but it must be followed up at home. Tonight no hesitation no stutter just roll over Chicago and continue this streak! As Kyle said, MacKinnon has nothing to prove anymore, and as long as McDavid has no Stanley Cup ring, all the points and goals for him are impressive, BUT without a ring, MacKinnon is still ahead and he plays as well as we love him playing. Regarding Chris mentioning tonight as a "trap game," I feel like that, too, but the Avs have lost more home games this season than away games. They must show their fans at home that they are in it to win it, shoot the Hawks out of Ball Arena tonight! Your loyal fans in Denver deserve to see more wins live, not only on TV. The next three games are MUST win games!

  6. I've been throwing out this stat all weekend long because it makes me so happy because I'm an old fart and have been an Avs fan since '95 and fondly remember the hatred between these two teams. The rivalry may no longer be the same but I will always revel in Detroit's failures: The Avs have beaten the Red Wings in 10 straight games and have not lost to them since 3/18/2017, six years to the day of their game this past Saturday. Red Wings suck, this is the way.

Chicago is playing spoiler right now and while they're kind of a crap team, they can easily Trap the Avs. I don't think that'll happen though.

KISS is about as deep as a puddle for sure, but their bangers are bangers. As for Deep Purple: That's the majesty of Ritchie Blackmore man. Guy's a jerk but he's a phenomenal guitarist.

Soundcheck: Ha Ha You're Dead by Green Day. Because I get so happy when the Dead Wings get squashed. But I could've gone with Deadwing by Porcupine Tree.

  7. Wy do you assume this is my first listen of the day? Perhaps it's my last? Perhaps it's the 3rd?

  8. Did you catch the Detroit house playing All the Small Things towards the end of the game?
