I dont care how long we have to wait for Fiala to be better. Id rather him take all the time he needs off to be 100% rather than bring him back early.
Sad to see Cal Petersen not even playing well in the AHL. That contract will be a drag on the team for the next 2 seasons unless we trade picks/assets to get rid of it.
At least we have Copley next year for cheap. I’d also love to sign Korpisalo back if his contract demands are reasonable.
I think Pheonix has earned the starting goalie spot for the playoffs. Korpisalo is ready to go if he stumbles.
Eddie, you deserve credit for proposing right after the Bruins game that it could represent a turning point for the Kings, which it did! I was too skeptical at that time to hope for that as the Kings, up to then, had disappointed me so many times. I believed that the Kings needed a big change in goal and that TMac should be on a short leash depending on how the next 10 games went. Well, Copley saved the Kings season which should not be minimized because it was huge. It's not a coincidence that the Kings overall defense made a huge turnaround at the same time Copley started in goal. And Byfield joining Kopitar's line was the next breakthrough; give TMac credit for that change as it was a revelation for the team. Now I want to see if the Kings keep doing well in the upcoming games against the Jets, Avalanche, Oilers (2x), Kraken and Vegas. That's a bunch of tough games. Bottom line is that I want the Kings to finish second, if not 1st, and to host the 1st playoff series, at least. Only team I am concerned with in the West is the Oilers, due to McDavid & their offense, and that they added Ekholm to their defense.
I totally agree with you Eddie that Tmac is stupid to keep putting Zach out there instead of Arty. Ah hello… Power Play (PP) is down a little from where it was ? Hmmm wouldn’t you want to put the players who have proven to be your best scorers on the PP ? Dah KALIYEV !!!!! Fine to give Zach a game or two to acclimate, but no more Tmac, just plain STUPID !!! Still think it was a very stupid trade to let Lemiuex in the first place !!! For many reasons. Last, I heard you say it’s possible Iafallo might sit out when Fiala returns. Not EVER gonna happen Eddie. Iafallo is so under appreciated by most fans. Did you notice that when he came back after injury is when Kings really started to surge ! Not saying all cuz Iafallo, but there is no way in hell he’ll ever be a healthy scratch. Mark my words.
