I watched the Avs play in Miami, and they played All The Small Things during the 3rd period, totally ripping off the magic that is Blink 182
Been saying it for a year. Great fans. Terrible taste in music. It’s a hockey game and you’re singing a song that reminds you of being 12 and eating gogurt….
Shoutout to a certain Calgary flame, who uses « Nas is like » by Nas as a personalized goal song.
Gotta be honest, I don’t care about the song either, as a song. Of course I like it since the positive association with Avs scoring, but as a song it’s not great.
That’s because the rest of the league is tired of hearing it. It’s overplayed for them 🤘🏽
The Dallas song is by far the worst! Also: Seattle destroying the legacy of Kurt Cobain by butchering Lithium is also grounds for the worst. I’m not a fan of the hey hey hey or our juggaloo Woop woop, but it is what it is.

The article is paywalled so I’m not 100% confident in which song they’re reporting on, but our goal song is Chase the Sun, not ATST, contrary to a lot of comments here. Disliking the ATST tradition is one thing but I don’t think that’s what’s being reported on here
Rest of the league got it forced on them all of last year as we draxed them, so they have negative emotions associated with the song.
Honestly I miss the old air-raid siren and “Rock ‘n’ Roll” by Gary Glitter (though he’s a complete piece of shit).
We should make “Rocky Mountain High” our goal song… if for nothing else just to have the weirdest dichotomy between horn and song
Interesting that the last four Stanley Cup winners are 3 of the bottom 4 selections. I don’t hate the current goal song but I don’t love it either. But I don’t have many expectations that I’m going to like what the Avs do musically. Nothing would sound the same if I was in charge of Avs music.
I do like the idea some other teams have toyed with of having a specific goal song tied to a certain player. Variety is always good.

The article even calls it out: the Avs song is All the Small Things and our goal song is pretty irrelevant. Imo it’s pretty bland, but that’s okay. I’m not here for « hey hey hey, » I’m here to turn the lights off and carry me home.
I love that the Devils use the Gaslight Anthem, though. That’s perfect and I’d never noticed (I can’t remember the last Devils home game I’ve watched with sound on).
EDIT: They had the Bouncing Souls too? Nice! It would have been super easy to just pick Bruce and none of the other Jersey sound but someone actually knows their shit. I know they still play the Boss and that’s legit but it seems like a good mix.
I question any list that doesn’t say Pantera and Dallas have the best goal song. The Avs’ isn’t great, at best it’s inoffensive, but it’s no where near as bad as Carolina’s or Chicago’s.

On the flip side I love what the devils did. They had the Gary glitter (May he rot in prison) “Hey!” as their goal song, fans would go “Hey! You suck!”
Trying to be more family friendly, they took it down and replaced it with Howl by Gaslight anthem. Fans still found a way to incorporate “You Suck!”
