My wife messed up the recording and went to halfway through the second period before we finished the first. Did anyone stand up for Nico???

  2. ScrewOff_

Luke is still playing on ESPN2 if anyone wants to continue to watch Hughes brothers dominance.

  3. KADENGAMES125

Can we still clutch a playoff spot if we win tomorrow?

  4. njdevils0011

Can we just appreciate McLeods face off expertise?

  5. Overzelious to clinch, playing down to a bad team, underestimating opponent what have you that lose stunk.

  6. HopelessEsq

It’s like they have a checklist of all the dumb things they do that lose us games and make sure they check every single one of them off every game.

  7. Confident_Path_7057

Didn’t watch the game. How was it?

  8. DevilJacket2000

Damon fucking Severson. Such a big time cock blocker.

  9. Serious-Bottle-2646

Not only should Severson sit the rest of the season, he should be forced to wear a dunce cap while doing said sitting.

  10. Batfleck666

Maybe they just really want to play the Rangers in the 1st round?

  11. Flashy_Curve7401

Why do people care about clinching a spot? I want to win the metro

  12. too_hot_for_penguins

Not the most fun game to watch but nice to see Jack scoring again. Wish that first one wasn’t offsides.. would have been a sweet hat trick and tie game.

    On to the next! LGD!

  13. xxfatpigxx

Gross defensive breakdowns tonight. O well, Jack scored which was great to see and I like seeing a feisty Nico. I’ll see you all tomorrow night. Crossing my fingers for better results!

  14. GMEN999

Severson era is ending. I won’t be as upset as when Rafalski left. Severson was terrible tonight. Not just that play that led to the penalty. Meanwhile Luke Hughes just scored for Michigan. Plus two assists.

    Correction. 4 assists!

  15. nuremberp

Dont know how to feel about this one. Tough loss yeah, but jack is back with a standard 3 point night

  16. JerseyDev93

Devils just wanted to clinch in NJ I understand

  17. Hitman5286

Losing against a team you should beat in a tight race stings. That being said, they fought back to lose by one. My only concern is giving up goals in quick succession. We can’t have breakdowns like that especially if we play a glass cannon like the Rangers in the first round. Their offense is insane but their defense is suspect. Obviously their goaltending is top notch but even the best of the best can’t do much if they are left out to dry multiple times a game.

Seems like every defensive breakdown results in a goal against. Schmid wasn’t at his best. I know Buffalo has a lot of speed but man Dougie and Graves looked really slow tonight. Sevo wasn’t too great either. That was a bad penalty in the 3rd when we’re so close to getting the tying goal.

  19. Mr7three2

This team has won 1 out of the last 6.. they better find their A game before the playoffs or were gonna get embarrassed

What a frustrating fucking game this was:

    * Jack Hughes is back. That is maybe the only positive I can take from this game. Jack Hughes is back. Two (actually three) goals and one point. He’s finally looking like he’s feeling himself and I’m hoping thats a good omen overall for the last stretch of games.
    * The only other positive is that we didn’t give up even though the first two periods was such bad hockey from us. Glad we made it a close game, but it shouldn’t have come to that in the first place. Other than that one PK, most of our PK was really solid against a top ranked Buffalo PP.
    * Every power play except that last one really fucked with our game. We need a damn exorcism for our first power play unit. The second unit looked way better and more dangerous, but it needs to fixed immediately.
    * Our defensive zone play for most of this game (except maybe the third) was truly abysmal. Turnovers, players not covering their men, inability to get it out of the zone.
    * We didn’t look like we were in it at all until the third period, and I know it makes for fun hockey that our third periods are always something to watch, but you can’t play like this forever and you can’t expect it to work every time.
    * Also, I fucking hate how we play against teams we should be dominating. I don’t know what it is about coaching or the players or the locker room, but this happens way too often for my liking. I know the Devils are a top ranking team now, so we’re going to see the best from our opponents night in and night out, but why can’t we fucking show up? Its frustrating as all hell.
    * I’m peeved at that late period penalty by Sevo. Ugh. Actually I’m pretty peeved at a lot of things from this game.
    * I hope we’re getting all of our bad play, offensive slumps, defensive mishaps out of our system now because this can’t stand in April and onwards.
    * Do not. Please for the love of everything. Do not take the Senators lightly tomorrow. Please.
    * I’ll be at the Rock tomorrow, so hoping to celebrate tomorrow night.
    * Gotta remember, this is way above and beyond any of our expectations back in the beginning of the season. We’re upset because we’ve seen how good this team can play throughout this season and when they don’t play to that level it really just looks like they’re phoning it in.
    * Anyway, I do actually have that pizza waiting for me, so I’m gonna go have myself a consolation pizza.

**EDIT:** Also, Kevin Bahl was a high point tonight as well. Wanted to give him his flowers.

  21. stacez15

That fuckin sucked. But is it now acceptable to purchase an 88 sweater

  22. Grimmer026

It’s like we don’t want the top seed in the metro playoffs

  23. LaHondaSkyline

5 wins, 8 losses in March. You don’t have to be a doomer to see that there are problems.

  24. ChannelShot7061

I think we should forfeit our playoff spot since we lost this game!

  25. Spade18

Would rather have a cold streak now than in a month. Work out the lumps, heat up going into the playoffs

  26. Zagg843

    Michael McLeod is a franchise 4th liner😤

  27. powatwain

Severson toook a horribly dumb penalty, no doubt, but to say he is trash and had a terrible game is ridiculous

He and Bahl were the only competent pairing tonight and weren’t on the ice for any of the D breakdowns or Buffalo goals

  28. Joepicat

Man, living in Buffalo, was really hoping to talk trash to most of friends. But, that didn’t work out… I might just dip out of the party I’m supposed to goto tonight… Cause woof…
    Hopefully tomorrow is better :-/

  29. bippityboppityzopp

Sooo..what’s it take now to clinch a spot?

  30. LaHondaSkyline

    Ruff post-game:  » I didn’t think we were ready to play at a high enough level… »

If he posted that here many would say he is overreacting and a doomer, just one game, etc., etc.

  31. Thatcher Demko was available at the deadline….

  32. BassBaller

Defense is a glaring weakness. Need to tighten it up come postseason or else it’ll be an early exit.
