  1. How do you do 15 minutes on that season and not mention that Messier won the damn Hart and broke Chicago's will to live in game four?

  2. I wish they would do a documentary on the oilers from 83-90.
    The islanders from 78-84
And the oilers vs islanders 80s rivalry.

  3. Wow 90. The year of their dynasty that is never spoken of.
    Love this

  4. I grew up on the east coast in an Oiler household and we were gutted watching Gretzky and the Kings come back in '89. To top the season off, the Flames won the Cup. The 1990 Cup is one I'll cherish for the rest of my life.

  5. I remember watching the Bruins final. NHL hockey has changed a lot since 1990. It has become way faster.

  6. Edmonton – City of Champions. A time that will never be forgotten and never again repeated. The last great hockey dynasty in the NHL. Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, Coffey, Fuhr, Anderson, Tikkanen. Legends never die, they will live on in hockey lore as the Greatest Team in its prime the world has ever seen

  7. Hahaha🤫🤔😷Funny, how #11 mess is only one who stays lean and mean. Ev one else, face fattens up, lol.

  8. This video brought tears to my eyes! The 1990 team was truly a great team. It's a painful process going through the past 30 years as an Oilers fan. I hoped for this year, but alas, the current team lacks conviction in the playoffs. The supporting cast is missing, but more importantly the superstars on the team need to be coached on how to play in the playoffs. It's a long painful road ahead, in my opinion. But I will still hope for next year… sigh….

  9. I remember being a little kid and listening to the last game on my walkman. My dad had got a job in Grande Prairie and I was heart broken to move from Edmonton. All the cups the Oilers won were special to me growing up, but this one was the best for me personally. It helped assuage the intense home sickness that I felt on that lonely highway that day. All these years later, I hope I get to see McDavid hoist the cup in an Oilers jersey. Lord knows us Oilers fans have suffered enough over the last couple decades, and I can think of no better replacement for Gretzky as ambassador of the game than Connor.

  10. What great and humble men. That's a real man. Messier keeping it real AND, is real. Great viewing, and, truly shows the mark of The Great One, and what a mark he put on the Oil, as a franchise!

  11. the LA Kings took away 3 Cups from the Oilers; 1982, 83,..and 89, but Oilers paid them back in 90'

  12. Viewers check this out if you want to see more Oilers winning the Cup. Iconic B&W Hockey Photos from the 1980's. Some of these images will blow you away!

  13. This season was the end of just a few teams winning the Stanley cup over several years.Thank better management of the league.
