How do you do 15 minutes on that season and not mention that Messier won the damn Hart and broke Chicago's will to live in game four?
Chicago Blackhawks are going 2010 style on your Edmonton Oilers asses
This could be the 2020 Raptors without Kawhi
I wish they would do a documentary on the oilers from 83-90.
The islanders from 78-84
And the oilers vs islanders 80s rivalry.
Wow 90. The year of their dynasty that is never spoken of.
Love this
Most of these Oilers met in 94. Especially Jelly.
Messier is one the greatest leaders of all time 👌
I grew up on the east coast in an Oiler household and we were gutted watching Gretzky and the Kings come back in '89. To top the season off, the Flames won the Cup. The 1990 Cup is one I'll cherish for the rest of my life.
I remember watching the Bruins final. NHL hockey has changed a lot since 1990. It has become way faster.
My favorite of the five championship teams.
Edmonton – City of Champions. A time that will never be forgotten and never again repeated. The last great hockey dynasty in the NHL. Gretzky, Messier, Kurri, Coffey, Fuhr, Anderson, Tikkanen. Legends never die, they will live on in hockey lore as the Greatest Team in its prime the world has ever seen
Awesome
Walt Disney could not have written the Oilers story better.
Hahaha🤫🤔😷Funny, how #11 mess is only one who stays lean and mean. Ev one else, face fattens up, lol.
This video brought tears to my eyes! The 1990 team was truly a great team. It's a painful process going through the past 30 years as an Oilers fan. I hoped for this year, but alas, the current team lacks conviction in the playoffs. The supporting cast is missing, but more importantly the superstars on the team need to be coached on how to play in the playoffs. It's a long painful road ahead, in my opinion. But I will still hope for next year… sigh….
The Oilers one another cup descised as the New York Rangers
How had I not known that Silent Bob had narrated an Oilers documentary?
I remember being a little kid and listening to the last game on my walkman. My dad had got a job in Grande Prairie and I was heart broken to move from Edmonton. All the cups the Oilers won were special to me growing up, but this one was the best for me personally. It helped assuage the intense home sickness that I felt on that lonely highway that day. All these years later, I hope I get to see McDavid hoist the cup in an Oilers jersey. Lord knows us Oilers fans have suffered enough over the last couple decades, and I can think of no better replacement for Gretzky as ambassador of the game than Connor.
Messier must of been really insecure about balding, cause he left that bucket on to the end.
Let's Go Oilers!
I was 18 back then, Christ I feel old
I asked messier how they won that year he said: you always believe you will win
amazing
What great and humble men. That's a real man. Messier keeping it real AND, is real. Great viewing, and, truly shows the mark of The Great One, and what a mark he put on the Oil, as a franchise!
5 cups in 7 years
Messier was a beast that year, I remember it well
If Gretzky had never been traded, the Oilers might have had ten Cups.
How many would they have won if Gretzky had stuck around?
The Oilers kept Ray Bourque from winning the Cup twice.
messier didn't need gretzky to win a cup… two more times
Billy Ranford was absolutely outstanding. 💯🥅🔥
Is Kevin Smith reading about hockey
"Without" 99 ??
the LA Kings took away 3 Cups from the Oilers; 1982, 83,..and 89, but Oilers paid them back in 90'
6:10 how is that a great save he shot it from center ice lol
We forget Wayne
why did OILERS trade 99
Viewers check this out if you want to see more Oilers winning the Cup. Iconic B&W Hockey Photos from the 1980's. Some of these images will blow you away!
I wish a had have been alive back in the 80s
My poor useless Jets. Always got violently butt hurt by the Oilers
This season was the end of just a few teams winning the Stanley cup over several years.Thank better management of the league.
Да помню пас Мессье за спину.Обожаю Ойлерз 80х годов.
