    While I am upset that this happened to him, as he is a very nice guy, he is easily replaced. I was hopeful the Phillies were going to either trade, or non-tender him at the end of the season.
    He is just a liability in the middle of the lineup, with his low batting average and lack of consistency. Sure, when he’s hot, he’s hot, and that’s great. But you can say that about lots of hitters.
    30 home runs and 90 RBIs just isn’t that impressive anymore. Lots of people can do it. I was hopeful they would nontender him, and Hall could handle the bulk of the duty at first base, with Alec Bohm, spelling him against right handers, with Edmundo Sosa playing third base. Now, it looks like that is all coming to fruition.
    This team will not miss a beat, as a matter fact, they might even be better. Looking forward to a great season!
