Hughes is really damn good at hockey. I get annoyed when people call him generation(because he ISN’T in my book), so I talk shit but what a player! One of those guys you hold your breath and hope when he gets the brisket 🫣
The Okposo pass to the front of his own net almost resulted in a goal if UPL wasn't sharp. I'm hopping on the get rid of Greenway camp. Until he can prove he can either contribute offensively or in the hitting, I still don't think he fits with the group. I know he was a scratch today. UPL still lets in weak goals was my biggest concern. Luckily the really weak 5 hole goal was disallowed due to offside. Thompson got hurt so he may not play tomorrow. He also needs to stop trying to dangle out of our zone, it was one of our giveaways of the 10. In all honesty, Mittelstadt is playing some of his best hockey AND this may be the first year he is healthy so his potential could skyrocket (ok, skyrocketing may be a bit much but I typed it so no going back). He may not be a finisher but he doesn't need to be. He sets up a lot of plays that others just don't finish. Tomorrows Isles game will be their redemption.
Much better tonight. The "kid line" has the potential to be REALLY special. They were buzzing tonight. Didn't notice as many egregious defensive lapses tonight. UPL just isn't doing it for me. 2 of those goals he let in were softies, another was borderline. He's so damn frustrating; he'll make 2-3 terrific saves, then let in an absolute muffin. Ugh. Anyway, good effort. On to the next one.
Bring back the goat. It's got some shining thing going on right now. Some really special goals. If UPL could just make a few big saves that was an easy win over good opposition. 😋
