  1. the oilers make scoring on them far to easy. Vegas defence makes it hard for us to score on them. for crying out loud, why can't the entire oiler team play defence.. don't blame skinner for soft goals against when he is facing shots at point blank range and never a defensive player to be seen. god forbid that we might have the balls to block a few shots.

  2. Draisaitl was awesome in this one. Skinner let the side down a bit, and Nurse didn't have a great night. But the goats in this one would be Yamamoto (puck died on his stick many times; demoted off McDavid line; pointless penalty that cost a goal against) and of course Kane. Evander Kane needs to get his head in the game. It's time!

  3. We've seen the NHL go through a phase of drafting the biggest players in hopes of teaching them how to be good players while many talented players weren't given a chance because they were too small. They've recently stopped this and now focus more on talent. Would be nice if they did the same for goalies. Todays goalies take up more of the net due to their size and equipment and rely heavily on positioning. At 6'4" Skinner got beat cleanly on the first 3 goals. How??? His lateral movement is awful and it's unfortunate that due to Campbell being a complete sieve, Skinner is our only option. 21 of his 42 appearances his save % was below .900. In comparison, Mike Smith in the 20-21 season only 9 of his 30 appearances had him under .900. 7 of Skinner's wins came despite him having a save % below .900 Make a save once in awhile

  4. There was a very interesting comment during the broadcast that Vegas has used 5 goalies this year and they all have a save percentage above .912. We don't have one goalie above .912. Whether it's your goaltending, your team defence, or a combination of the two it is very concerning.

  5. I like your optimism, but I’ll believe it when I see it IF we can get a power play in the playoffs

  6. Offence is great for the Oilers, but defence on the whole team needs to better if they want to make it out of the first round of the playoffs. I’m a little concerned with our goalie situation, both our tenders have let lots of goals in lately. In all honestly they haven’t been playing that great the last 3 games, hopefully they can put it into high gear!

  7. As a Vegas fan so you guys know Roy’s last name is pronounced “Wa”.

GG to you guys ! Fun one to watch. Felt like a playoff game

  8. as bruce observed; 'Bouchard asleep'… then others also fell asleep like Kane etc… deciding to NOT cover the man and to NOT be in a relevant position. An Oiler theme so so often…. it has to be to do w coaching not teaching/emphasizing over & over what the right position is…. being tired doesn't explain mental errors. lack of coaching? discipline?

  9. i'm telling you folks the oilers' goal song should be springsteen's very rare b-side "born to chase"

  10. bruce, you don't take one lap in an f1 car and pit; that second line was souped-up sedans or poor CART team cars — those things don't last as long. all respect to nuge, eck, and kane (who is a shell of his former power forward self)

  11. mike amodio knows eldritch incantations that invoke horrors from ludvig prinn's "de vermis mysteriis" and jerry 'teabag' hack's "memoir of hockey nobody"

  12. "Mike Amadio" is hockey's Friday the 13th "Jason Voorhees". You can't get rid of him, he just keeps coming back!

  13. Sit Kane for 2 games so he can get his head straight /. If he does not smarten up trade him in the off season / coaching should get all players to play defensively / scoring can feed off of that !!!!

  14. Roy: Pronounced “Hwah” in French. It is the old french word for King. “Hwah delivered a royal “hwah-ping” to Skinner in OT.

  15. Oilers are going to have their hands plenty full with the KIngs this year in the playoffs…. Kings getting home ice advantage…

  16. Kane has been a defensive liability for the last few games. Hope he smartens up when the playoff starts.
The oilers need to work on their PK really bad.
