  1. On the defensive front, Kane is going to burn them back there. He's been awful all year, and he's even shown some of those serious lapses with NY. Even in this NSH game, about two mi utes in he was at the goalmoith while a Predator was allowed two point blank chances. Kane just stood there motionless, quite literally like a pylon, lol.

NYR's next 5 games will be much more interesting. Carolina twice, Florida, and NJ. Three of those games are against teams they'll need to beat to get to the conference finals. Lets see how they matchup there.

  2. Fox has always been good in his own end. I know it's easy to assume when a player is extremely good offensively that they cheat/don't try or aren't good on defense, but it's not true for fox. He's very good in his own end

  3. Hey, Captain – did you catch Tucker Carlson's segment tonight on the SJ Sharks?

  4. Personally, looking at last season and how with a weaker and less experienced team they made it to the conference finals along with the fact both the Penguins and Hurricane took them to 7 games, I think they're gonna make it to the conference finals. However I am a Rangers fan so my bias might be kicking in a little bit.

  5. You’re a smart guy but that’s a horrible take on Fox. Every advanced stat has fox as being the very best of all the stud defensemen defensively this year and it has been like that the last 3 years. The Trouba-Miller pairing has been the problem defensively.

  6. not mentioning how much they miss lindgren rn is a huge error. not only is he a very solid defensive player for the team, but he compliments fox’s game in a huge way. also a big leader on the team as well and does a lot of the little things u need to win. feel like that had to be mentioned here because he should be back in next game

  7. I dunno. I am not feeling like they're gonna win the Cup. With the Rangers, they always have really good teams but there's always 1 or 2 teams just a little better. Last year it was the Lightning. IN 2014 it was the Kings. In 2012 it was the Devils etc. They always seem to be a Top 5 team, but never quite good enough to get over the hump. This year feels like the other years to me. We'll have a good run of it, then run into a brick wall (probably Boston). Maybe this is finally the year they can be the team that's the best though. You never really know.

  8. They are as dangerous as a 2nd tier franchise can be .. NY is trash .. It stinks . They stink

  9. Kane's been split from Panarin 5v5 for like 5 or 6 games. He's w Kreider and Trocheck. They put Kreider back w Mika Z and Kane back w Panarin on the split power play units.

  10. Mikkola was brought on to be a 6D and he’s played mostly on the top pair because of Lindgren being hurt. That’s not helping Fox, obviously. Put Fox back with Lindgren when his shoulder is ready, and put Mikkola back on the third pair with Schneider, and things look a lot better.

  11. Love my Rangers, but the last 2 games were against AHL line up. They over pass, especially east to west rather than shoot for the rebound with numbers to the net.

  12. your comments are fair and I think on the money. But as others have commented, 55 is the key missing piece. For whatever reason, 23 does not get comfortable with other d men the way he does with 55. If 55 comes back and stays healthy ish throughout playoffs, I think they have a long run in front of them. The B’s look lethal, but the playoffs are something else, so it should be great fun to watch.

  13. The NHL playoffs are essentially a new season, and I don't just mean that because it's a fresh start. Team play is completely different and the best teams don't necessarily win, the teams that are playing the best hockey at that time do. Experience and goaltending are vital and the New York rangers finally have both. I would not count them out in any seven game series against anyone in the NHL this postseason. The same can be said about several of the top teams in the East so I am looking forward to next month. LGR

  14. I’m sorry-weren’t these the same Rangers that played 20 games last year in the play-offs? I’m not saying that will win them the cup this year but it should at least be the starting point for any discussion about their toughness.

  15. Everyone says they can only get to the conference finals but lose, everyone also said they wouldn't get as far as they did last year. I think a lot of people factor the Bruins into that equation which isn't justified to me. Only 2 of 8 teams that have had a record like the Bruins have gone all of the way, Tampa just tied the league record a few years ago and got swept in the first round by the Blue Jackets. So their record doesn't give them an automatic pass through the playoffs

  16. You mentioned Panarin and Kane need time to connect with their new center but they aren't even on a line together. Kane, Krieder, and Trocheck and becoming a stellar combination lately. And the defense you mentioned is without Lindgren who plays a huge piece on the team so once he's back it's completely different. Yeah, Fox has some questionable moments, but so does Panarin and any other star in the league

  17. If the Rangers go into the postseason healthy, they are going to be tough on anybody. They will be underdogs if they make it to Boston, but It looks like they now have a shot at winning it all.

  18. Pretty good group of dmen too, they’re just underrated so not much is said about them. Miller is fantastic, obviously Fox is too. Lindgren is solid defensively, Trouba is a decent mix but best aspect is his physicality. Comes in handy in the playoffs being able to lay people out, forces them to keep their heads on swivels.
Schneider is great as well, he’s good enough to be a top 4 pairing guy soon but not much room to crack their current top 4. But I see the point that despite the good lineup, they still fall apart defensively at times.

  19. More impressive win was the day before when they beat the Penguins, a playoff team, 6-0. Rangers could definitely win the cup. They just gotta beat the Devils, then Carolina which will be easier than usual because Svechnikov is out for the year. Fairly easy path to the ECF, but beating the Bruins or Leafs or Tampa once they get there will be a big challenge. Most scared of the Bruins, because the strong team defence paired with Vezina-form Ullmark is going to be very challenging.

  20. I think it will all come down to Igor. Rangers D has improved drastically from where they were last season, but they still tend to play careless and undisciplined in key moments. Getting Lindgren back is huge, but in order to move past Tampa and compete with the Bruins, Igor will have to find his dominant form of 2021-22. When Igor is dialed in, the hope is that the team plays more relaxed, takes less risks on offense, and doesn’t force the play as much. They have enough offensive talent to challenge Boston but it will come down to Igor outshining Ullmark imo

  21. I’m a Rangers fan since 1979. They have skill to spare but not enough snarl or sandpaper to go far in the playoffs. Defense is a little better than average, but other teams are just going to beat them down.

Finally, Glen Sather has been there and in control for 23 years regardless of the GM or title. He has been a complete, total and abject failure since arriving in 2000 having done nothing in Edmonton since 1991. So long as this relic and has-been has a key to MSG, they will win nothing. Period. 23 years of incompetence should prove that.

  22. Hey everyone,

Thanks for watching first off but I wanted to address a few comments. I saw some people mention Lindgren, I’ll be completely honest since he was out, I was mainly talking about the roster as currently constructed. Lindgren being back will be huge for the Rangers, I love his grit and the way he carries himself.

Secondly, I do know they have switched up lines and that Kane-Panarin don’t play together as often. That’s why I had the capfriendly lines showing the proper lines. I was talking regarding when Kane came over immediately and some people wondered why he wasn’t lighting it up. Personally I think that line would be lethal since Kane has practiced more in the Rangers uniform.

Some of the miscues were my fault due to rushing to get a video up before I had to leave the house. So my apologies, I like to bring the best content I can but did make a mistake on that part.

As for Fox, I like the kid’s game a lot. I’ve been watching him since Harvard when he destroyed a lot of the ECAC teams 😂. I think at times he can get overly aggressive when getting involved in the rush and it can take him out of position at times. When Fox is on his game he is one of the better dmen in the league. I still think there is more there though on the defensive side. I really think he could mirror Brian Leetch’s game due to similar size. Leetch is only 1 inch taller than Fox. Didn’t mean to come off like I don’t like him as a player. I admittedly expect a lot from him since his potential is off the charts.

Probably won’t be the last mistake I make on the channel but want to say I appreciate all the great and thorough comments. Makes the videos fun to do! Thank you for watching!
