The Ducks could have got a few more seasons out of their winning core. Yeah, they were declining. But most of those veterans are still in the league right now making contributions. Ritchie, Cogliano, Rackell, Perry. Just adding a couple players could have turned it around. Plus it would not have wasted Getzlaf last years. In addition all those players have a lot more toughness and grit than any of the current Ducks have.
