Second name that come to my mind is Pablo Laso – Luka's former coach from Real Madrid – he is available by the way… Knows Luka and also created Luka. Also he pushed him to become who he is now. He would know how and when, what action to take: when to calm him down and when to yell at him and make him play ball not just fu*k arround with ball and lose 2 or 3 balls in a row with no consequence. If Luka does not show effort he should be seated down and not Carlile or Kidd had the balls to do that, both are too soft. Laso would be perfect for that.

Balkan mentality coaching is something what Luka needs- meaning coach is the God and players are my puppets (in a good way) I decide what we play, who plays and why plays. No STAR shit is tollerated by them. I belive Luka needs that kind of coaching, to be just a little bit affraid of coach, so he would then play with effort. Now he just plays the minutes and shows no real effort, because he does not have any "respect" of coach, because they do not learn him anything new… Luka is playing with just 50% effort and he puts up the numbers he does – he should be credited for that, but I belive his potential is soo much higher and if the MAVS do not CHANGE coach that will challenge him, he will never develop to the full potential that he could. And also mavs will stay average team with 1 championship won, because Luka will leave mavs when 1st opportunity shows. He will join Jokić and together they will win at least 5 rings. Denver will need Luka for that…
Also GREGG Popovich, has some BALKAN mentalllity and would fit LUKA perfectly!!!
Don't you think Luka taking that TECH and missing a must play game says that there is something behind the scene not making sense. The STARTERS do not believe in kidds plan anymore. Most disappointing part is watching are unorthodox style from the lowest to the best teams are playing better right now while no other team in the NBA is collapsing like the MAVS. But this is what i knew and resisted to believe when we traded are DEFENSIVE anchor and Winwiddie was underestimated.

I do believe this team could beat anyone on any given night. That said, they wouldn't fair well in a 7 game series due to lack of depth at wing and rebounding/rim protection. I wasn't high on the Kyrie trade but have really enjoyed watching him on the Mavs. CWood has gotta go, bro is a straight bucket but he just doesn't fit with the identity this coaching staff needs at the 5. At this point I would really love them to pick inside the top 10 in this years draft and grab a 3 and d wing. Pair that with an Jonathan Issac type mle, if possible, and sign another 5 that can crash the glass. Need to try and unload some of the bad contracts in the off season as well. Still love watching this team play and will be watching no matter the record. Think Kidd deserves at least another year to right the ship.

I was thinking we could have a pretty good team if we could somehow have guys on our team like Porzingis, Jalen Brunson, Spencer Dinwiddie, Dorian Finney-Smith, Harrison Barnes. But we never seem to have talent like that come through our town. Guys, look, the Maverick’s made the Steve Nash mistake AGAIN!!!! Except this time it’s worse cause we’ve had a few guys we got rid of or let go that were really good players. But we look like the guy that spends all his money trying to make some girl happy and ends up losing his house and car and winds up in big debt. Jason Kidd might be out the door. He's still friends with the players but dude has lost control of the situation. We went from a total control freak old school coach to a postmodern "just play on offense" coach.

You guys are contradicting yourselves. If it's s team game, than how can you not place some of the blame on Kyrie? Did I miss where he is no longer a member of the team? You said yourself, when he shoots well (And 52% is far from perfect), the Mavs win. Well, you could say that about everybody else on the Mavs and any other team. I have supported Kyrie this passed year, when he was punished for exercising his own rights. But the love affair with him has to end. And if nothing else, it should be obvious to everyone now, that he is not the savior. Going forward, they need a better team, and should address that need first.

1. Luka's conditioning was supposed to be fixed this year. He was in the best shape after the off-season of any he's had here. (instead he's gotten softer as the year has progressed and has become an embarrassing whiner).
2. We all knew in Oct/Nov that this team would not go deep in the playoffs. However, the expectation then was that individual players would improve. (instead DFS, SD, Maxi, Reggie, Dwight, C Wood all played mostly below expectations).
3. Off-season 2023 would bring more talent to join Luka. (instead the team was blown up mid-season to get Kyrie Irving).
4. Kyrie has made no difference after he was acquired.
5. Kyrie leaves w/o compensation.
6. Mavs doomed to lottery for foreseeable future.
7. Luka demands and gets traded in 23-24 season.
8. No one wants to come here in FA).
9. It's the '90's again. Teams sucks until they get lucky in the draft.
Why all this drama and disfunction? Likely Jason Kidd has treated Luka like a man and Luka hasn't responded. Trading Boban may be bigger detriment to the locker room than we know. Losing Kokoskov last summer (Luka's Eurobasket coach). Losing Jalen Brunson w/o compensation was huge mistake by Cuban/mgmt.

Niko and Cuban really screwed this team and this season up. They made all the wrong moves or didn't make ones that needed to be made. The construction and make up of this team is THEIR doing. Jason Kidd is what 90% of us believed him to be when he first sign. He's extremely overrated as a HC and still rides on his past as a player. He hasn't produced squatt and proved he has no idea how to coach super stars and I truly believe Luka is tuning him out because he lacks respect for his coaching abilities. If it comes down between Luka and Kidd……Kidd is looooong gone and rightfully so. It's time to just call it a season acknowledge your massive failures and start preparing for a big aggressive off-season rebuild.
I didn't like the Kyrie trade when it happened, as I thought they needed more defense, not more offense. So trading depth and defense for a defensively challenged inconsistent offensive guard seemed strange to me. Seems to be playing out exactly like I thought it would – poorly.
As a fan that lives in Los Angeles… I cancelled my league pass. That's how confident I feel about the season. DONE.
I feel like we forget how we saw the potential clicking that first Philly game after the trade. But the injuries surfaced for Kai and Luka and just completely wiped it. Hopefully they can get that confidence back- they will play Philly this week 🤞🙏
