Just here to say these fools and this dumb ass coach deserve their fate right now.

Anyone else notice the people calling other fans names like bandwagoners and doomers disappear when we lose? Falling behind in the wild card race never has worked out for us before so this isn’t surprising. It’s a classic Panther move to play just well enough to give us false hope before crushing it

I want to address some excuses I’m starting to see that don’t make any sense:

This was a planned down season so it was expected we would miss the playoffs… If anyone has any proof of them saying this before the season started please show it. No one was expecting us to be a 122 point team but we were still supposed to be a contending team with projections around 106 pts

Maurice is a 1st year coach with team so they are learning his systems and it’s ok if we miss the playoffs because it can take longer with a new coach.. This excuse doesn’t hold either. Bruce Cassidy is leading the division in his 1st year with Vegas, Jim Montgomery is leading the division in his 1st year with Boston and Deboer has a 39-20-14 record as a 1st year coach in Dallas

Who are you all rooting for in the Playoffs? I have NJ

  5. scarbutt11

Lol should just put the staal brothers out for 60 minutes the rest of the season. The rest of the team can start off season early

  6. bluesf44

Can’t wait for us to magically win Montreal a top 2 pick after this losing skid. It’ll be icing on the cake once we find out Maurice will be retained.

A lot can be said about the major regression from last season. I blame Maurice a lot, but the players individually have sucked too. Whether that is due to the coaching we can only speculate. Maybe our expectations were too high this year after winning the President’s Trophy. But in the last 12 seasons this has easily been the worst.

2011-12 we made the playoffs and had a tight series against NJ

2013 we came near last but Huberdeau won the Calder and we drafted Barkov.

2013-14 we sucked but got Ekblad (seemed like a good idea until two/three years ago lol)

2014-18 we were on the way up. Not consistent enough to contend but flashes of brilliance. The Huby-Barkov-Jagr line was taking over games

2018-22 a few seasons on the fringes but we finally break through as a playoff team after COVID

Now this season there is nothing. The team used to have heart. Now it’s just darkness. Special teams is abysmal. Defense is horrible. Goaltending is horrible. Offense is inconsistent at best. There is literally nothing to look forward to.

  8. 1mactruk

When you play “playoff hockey” all year it’s difficult to keep the momentum when it counts.

I feel for Lundel, they expect him to be a player
he’s not because the coach doesn’t know how to “coach” a player of his caliber. He will be sacrificed here and dominate under a properly managed franchise.

And There are a few good players dying to prove themselves but this coach and shit management will not let them come up when the opportunity calls.

Edit, Ekblad obviously has issues, and I think it’s the way this coach is calling his game, he better than this, we know and I’m sure he does as well. It’s like I know the game but my boss tells me to do this….

So so so glad that we ironed out the kinks from the Lightning series last year and are back to being dominant. Absolutely love seeing the boys all giving 100% and I love even more that Maurice’s systems are complimenting their skill sets.

Proud to rep the shield!! You think we actually finish below .500? Fuck this franchise

Oh, and our division rival gets to draft what looks to be the next superstar of the NHL. Let’s go Panthers!

  10. ExtracurricularLoan

The most egregious thing this season is they broke a young kid who was KNOWN for his unflappability and positivity and put him into fucking therapy.

  11. conr_sobc

Well, this was definitely a Panthers season. Wouldn’t be the cats without getting your hopes up before getting crushed.

  12. SteelersZane

This is what you get when you hire Jeff Fisher on ice. I feel stupid for renewing last month.

  13. Leftycoordination

    Paul Maurice accomplishments

Take presidents trophy team and Misses playoffs.

Turns Norris caliber Dman into Traffic Cone.

Takes good young center and ruins his talent

Sends hottest goalie prospect into mental health

    Has found zero surprising talents

Found instead two old brothers who can’t play

Made one of the best centers in the nhl look bad

    Can’t make a comeback

    Can’t hold leads

    Can’t adjust to injuries

    Can’t coach up any prospects

Turned an exciting destination back into a basement

    …. Did I miss anything?

  14. LEDZ100

The players should just stop pretending they care. Call up hutsko, Heponiemi, kiersted etc instead of playing guys who would rather be golfing right now

  15. iLoveCoachQ

Next thing you know coach Q becomes head coach again… but not for the Panthers. Some other team will pick him up when all is said and done and we’ll still be stuck with Mo.

  16. FlaGator

How did we end up with Paul Maurice? How do you choose to hire a washed up coach who has no significant history of success. It doesn’t make any sense.

  17. s1lentastro1

as a side note, I think Tkachuk should be captain. Barkov doesn’t fight and never fires up the team. he just doesn’t exude leadership. maybe I’m just high and tripping, I don’t know.

  18. Unironically wasted season. Even Minnesota is fucking making it with Parise and Suter buyouts. I don’t want to hear it.
