This trade is on the same level as harden to the nets… Useless.They don't need nobody alongside Luka. They needed Finney Smith and Dinwiddie. Their center is trash, they needed to trade for someone like gobert who can give you defence and rebounds, no points. And they need players like Bridges 3&D very good players.. Even if you have to pay them more money. Your stuck with Hardaway Kleber and other now.. The key to their succes was to keep the teams from last year and just replace the center and a couple of role players…
Luka is the worse transition defender in the NBA. 50% of the time he never crosses half court as he’s complaining to the refs while the fast break is going the other way.

People said the same thing about the Suns defense when they made their move mid season. They have maintained a high defensive rating and the 4th seed without Bridges, Johnson and Durant. The difference is Book compared to Luka. Book is a hustler and continues to improve on his defense. He has the fire in him to be great and Luka just wants to act like a goober or whine like a brat on the court. He has been coddled and it is showing now.

This was never a championship team. They wanna get a big FA in the offseason… but idk how many players wanna go to Dallas and play with Luka. He’s amazing but it’s a Bron situation were he needs specific players to maximize Luka.
The team is too small, they can't rebound and they can't defend. It's as simple as that. So it doesn't matter about Kyrie scoring 30 and Luka scoring 30. Makes no difference. That's not enough to overcome the fact that the opposing team is getting layup lines all night.
Well, if I'm the MAVS, I look at who gonna be a free agent this summer. I let Kyrie & Wood walk. I look right at getting:
Nikola Vucevic, who on a down year is avg 17 ppg 11 rpg 3 apg on 52%.
Mo Wagner, who is avg 10 ppg 4 rpg, will give good effort all around & wont cost too much.
RFA Coby White or trade for Cole Anthony from Magic.
