Poor Fabs, his body just can’t handle the NHL.

Still one of the best pickups Yzerman has gave us.

Jesus, man. This dude is the human equivalent to a ming vase.

Fabbri is made of glass. I love watching him play when he’s healthy, but that seems to be becoming more and more rare these days.

Sometimes they use donor ligaments to rebuild knees and sometimes they use autologous cartilage so it’s quite possible that there is just not any more cartilage to use from anywhere else on his body in order to fix his knees again

This actually sounds like a « clean up » situation. For an athlete suffering through multiple knee surgeries this isn’t abnormal and it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s tied directly to that last hit. Sometimes it’s about shaving a bit off a ligament that’s rubbing against bone material. This sucks for Fabbri but it’s far from some of the horrible possibilities he could be facing now. It sounds like he’ll have more than enough time to have a real summer of training and recovery. If this is all it is I’m expecting that he’ll be very ready for training camp.

Fabbri may only be 27, but he has the body of my 60 year old dad.

I just hope his knees aren’t so done that he can’t live a relatively normal life after hockey.

Yeah, hockey is amazing and money is amazing, but being able to walk and perform standard daily tasks is also amazing.

I know they’re not necessarily mutually exclusive in Fabbo’s case, but man…
