Offense good, defense bad
I’ve been wondering most of the season if anyone gives up more odd man rushes than us and it turns out no one does. Brutal.
The last two … it feels that way … the numbers back it up … how many odd man rushes are we going to give up a game … we give them up so often we’re actually good at defending them now.
Offense improved a lot, defense and goaltending did not, I think we know what the focus is next season.
The Sabres have the basic foundation of a playoff team pretty much in place. They are primed to take a large competitive leap next season with a couple of smart roster additions + development + a few strategic adjustments.
Adding one or two solid two-way forwards that can play in the top nine would make a huge difference.
