As was expected, the Oilers dominated throughout most of this game with spectacular performances from McDavid, Draisaitl and Nugent-Hopkins. Coach Woodcroft also noted that the Coyotes were limited to 16 shots on net which was excellent. However, even though he alluded to it, he deliberately failed to acknowledge the fact that the Coyotes were able to score 3 goals out of the 16 shots on net and that was unacceptable. Even so, as Bruce and David pointed out, the Oilers have 2 games left against both Vegas and the Kings and if they are able to win those games, then there is a good possibility that they could end up first in their Division which would also provide them with home ice advantage in the first stage of the playoffs. Go Oilers!!
The Oilers have higher urgency, resolve and focus on the road…. when they go to Arizona next week they will likely look like the more dominant club. ~ I still worry about a team that doesn't play as well as it can until it has to…..tough to turn on and off…..thank u guys!
I get that it was a 7:30 start for viewers in Arizona, but they act as if anyone in Arizona actually WATCHES the yotes. They're playing in a college arena this year with 5025 capacity and averaging 4500 attendance lol
What's remarkable with McDavid is his ability to recover the puck after he's been stick checked, obviously due to his warp speed..

see Ariz 2nd Goal. Bouchard gives up at least 1 goal (freebee) to the opposition every single game. Good that Ekholm is helping to cover for him so he can get a big payday- but maybe Oilers need to realize he is a very serious liability for a team that actually wants to compete in 1 goal games. This has been 3 years- no fixing it. So best that Ekholm plays w another D to build some future… vs letting Holland sign Bouchard to multi-year & tie up more Cap. No team can have a guy that has head in the clouds constantly. He slowed down so he could relax a bit & turn-over, then goal against..
It is nice to see McDavid score 60 goals in 72 games.
Bouchard has been playing pretty bad lately. Not sure what happened to him in the last few games. It could be too much pressure on himself after Barrie left.

Goaltending is the only reason the Oilers might not win a cup this year. Its a tall order for young Skinner.
McCurdy's comments about Bouchard in over-time were bang on. Wake up, Bouchard!!
I've seen Nurse choose playing Defense over winning the race to the puck numerous times this year. don't know what's up with that, like you said, he's capable to win the battle.
