Dang, are we going to become what Minnesota was for the longest time?

    …only a bit worse?

If they can keep PLD somehow and turn around 55 in a trade which would bring back quality assets and/or draft capital I’d be hard pressed to think of a better outcome for this roster.

    > Dreger saying no appetite for rebuild here and they are trying everything they can to sign Dubois

Honestly if keeping Dubois around costs too much money and we’re going to end up stripping it down next year why bother? Dubois looks just as checked out as the other 3.

I get why Chevy would try everything to keep him but after this year I’m not as sour on core pieces being on the move anymore.

At this point, I don’t think it matters if management doesn’t want a rebuild. It’s going to happen. 80,26,55,37 are all done after next season.

Fans don’t want 26 or 55 back at this point and I doubt 55 wants to be here with his current effort levels. 80 has made it abundantly clear he isn’t staying and 37 is 50/50 as far as anyone can guess.

If Chevy doesn’t move 55 and 80, he sets this franchise back YEARS by letting them walk in FA. If they don’t resign 37 this off-season, you have to trade him as well.

As far as 26 goes, I think most people would accept him for like 2 mil per year on the 3rd line but I don’t think it’s even worth it, as he’s declining and it’s assumed that he is part of the locker room issues possibly.

What I expect to happen is for Chevy and chipman to ride this core into the grave and be left with nothing next off-season in typical jets fashion. Hoping they go the trade route but expecting them to be loyal like usual even though it hurts the franchise.

Makes sense. What we’re doing now is working.

    Heavy AF /s

Give PLD the C, the big contract, whatever he wants. Anyone that has watched this team this year knows he was a monster part of their success! And even now that the shit is hitting the fan, generally when anything happens positive its bc PLD is on the ice. 55 is a spoiled brat that gives very little efforts and needs to go asap! The reason he’s got points is bc he plays on PP1 and that’s about it, again his effort suck ass in a bad way full stop!

  7. ottereckhart

Lol okay have fun u guys. I’m a sharks main next year if they get Bedard.

  8. WatchTheNorthEndDie

Dreger is a pipeline to Chevy. Signing PLD is as stupid as chasing Tortz. You traded for a player that doesn’t want to be here. Now you have to ship our 55, PLD doesn’t want to be here. Welcome to four lines with no centers Chevy.

    This GM is abusive.

Also not having a Captain on this team is hurting the players accountability. They have tuned Bones out and all the « A »s you can nominate makes no sense while 55 is the biggest dog fucker! The system worked for a while when we were winning but now no one is stepping up and everyone feels content like I’m not the Captain I’m not gonna tell you to smarten up. Fuck I don’t know just some infuriated opinion from a fan that is annoyed beyond belief with the effort level and fucks given! GJG!

  10. Willyq25

keep in mind this is probably being said to keep his trade value high..why would Chevy come out and say « we cant sign him ».

  11. Craigers2019

I listened to the broadcast and it’s not exactly what Dreger said, he kinda played both sides (as he usually does). Also said Winnipeg could be a club to keep an eye on in the summer for signs of a rebuild.

  12. battlelevel

They don’t want to rebuild even though the core they have is currently aging poorly, coming to the end of their contracts, or have essentially tuned out any authority figure in the room. The team scratches for a wildcard spot every year AT BEST, and upper mgmt doesn’t want to rebuild? What’s the plan then?

  13. skilzkid

So we know there is a locker room cancer, but do we know for sure who it is? Given his can’t do attitude, number 55 is likely part of the problem, and I’ll bet PLD always whining « vie la Montreal » doesn’t help. People also seem to think that Wheeler is a locker room problem but after sacrificing his balls for the team and then playing out the game I’m not sure he is a problem other than old age catching up to him. Definitely need to get rid of 55 while we can get assets and PLD before Montreal takes him for free

  14. 2peg2city

Looking at their moves after 2019, SHOCKING

  15. halfpints

I can’t wait to watch the same shit next year…. lol

  16. Rotaryboy23

    FAAAAAAAAAAAAAACCCCCCKKKKKKK!

    *rips out hair*

  17. GordonJQuench

So Chevy is back next year then?

  18. space_tigress

Remember 2011 when the Jets just returned and we kept hearing about the 5-10 year plan for the team to be contenders? It’s been 12 years now can we just accept the plan failed and move on? Fire Chevy!

  19. eutectic_h8r

You know what might make Dubois want to stick around? Icing a team that is even slightly competitive! Seriously, at this point why is anyone even going to want to stick around – let alone Dubois?

  20. milkisforbabies666

There is a difference between rebuild and retool. We need a serious retool but we already have a good stock of prospects right now along with top end talent, its poor player leadership that is ruining the team. Schief openly disagreeing with the coaches 2 years in a row is unacceptable diva behaviour

  21. RedTheDopeKing

Yeah well I don’t want to work at a factory but sometimes in life you have to pull up your sleeves and get to work lol

  22. ComprehensiveAlps652

They not gonna have a choice

  23. ComprehensiveAlps652
