I think people have PTSD from Benning, and also how we played with AHL goalies under Bruce to start the season. They saw JB fail at a retool so won’t give this management an honest chance. But their retool attempt has been night and day compared to the last one.
This team has a lot of talent. A couple saavy offseason moves can make them competitive real quick.
Of course the first month of next season will tell a lot, but I’m pretty excited for it already.

Why do we act like signing College UFAs is a new thing? Benning did this all the time lol… Stetcher, Molino, Teves, Michaelis etc. Only really Stetcher panned out, but it seems like people are acting like this is some new thing that we only just started doing

This management has proven to be good at acquiring high value players at a low cost.

Kuzmenko was an absolute home run that I don’t think Allvin gets enough credit for.
There was a Seravalli clip from Canucks central a couple weeks back where he said Allvin deserves full credit for bringing Kuzmenko to Vancouver.
Apparently he called Milstein before he even had the Canucks job to say « If I’m the GM in Vancouver, Kuzmenko is going to be our #1 priority this off-season. »
He went above and beyond to make the player know he was wanted. That seems to be a trend with these guys choosing to be in Vancouver. They all say they felt wanted and like the Canucks understood their game and how they would fit in.
Full props to Patrick Allvin. He’s done a lot of really good things in his short tenure.
