Everytime a Leaf player who outplayed expectations is up for contract negotiations, the TML organization tries to denigrate the player’s contribution and even the media jumps on him. Soupy, Mikheyev are good examples.

This season’s donkey is Michael Bunting…. the guy has, dollar per output, performed better than any Maple Leaf over two seasons and demonstrated during that time he deserves top six. I’ll give Jarnkrok props too.

Don’t believe the hype about Bunting. His passion is irreplaceable. He should be top six.

Hope to see Acciari back soon, but hope he takes the time to get to 100% – looks like ROR will prbly replace Kampf on the 3rd line and Acciari slots in where Zohorna holding place now.

Hopefully those d pairings stick for a bit. Love lily but the recent slump has gotten him where he’s at. I could see him swap in for holl but honestly holl has looked respectable as of late.

Kerfoot in the top 6 is ….. I don’t even know the words to use.

Keep him in the bottom 6 where he belongs, if he can’t produce there WHY is he playing higher up in the line up.

We really need to nail down our lines so the guys can get some runs together and build chemistry.

How Holl keeps getting time over Lily is truly beyond me. Sure, Lily made some bad plays following the TDL that wound up in the back of the net, but several others have also been guilt of such and been bailed out hard by our goaltenders.

Isn’t it the entire point for the 3rd line to shut down the other team/make nothing happen? Why the fuck is Kerfoot not stapled to a line like that?

  7. re10pect

I think we are getting closer here. I would like to see Kerfoot and Bunting swapped, OReilly and Kampf swapped, and Acciari in for Zahorna when healthy, and I think that’s about as good as we are getting with trying to run O’Reilly as a 3rd line.

As much as I want Lilly in, he has been not great recently at a time when the pressure is on and he might have screwed himself until the inevitable injury.

Y’all sleeping on kerfoot. He’s fuckin intelligent enough to plug top 6 holes, if he doesn’t have the finish he’s got the drive and pace to bounce around from our first to our 4th line as he has all year.

  9. howsshegoin

these lines look as close to perfect as possible with the exception of goose being out

Bunting can at least be on the 2nd line – no need to suppress the guy so much considering he has been great for most of his Leafs term. Perhaps they are trying to lower his cap hit a bit for next year (considering Mikheyev and Hyman both left).
