1. Matt Murray must be so excited to see these guys in front of him in the future.. Go Sens Go!!

  2. Don’t agree with your opinion on Bernard-Docker I thought he was Canada’s worst defenseman by far and dreaded every time he hit the ice.

  3. AVs have the best Young DMen core and don’t believe it’s close.

    Byram – Makar
    Girard – Barron
    Helleson – Timmins

They can develop at their pace due to EJ, Toews and Graves are still on the team. Every player was drafted in the top 2 rounds and expected to all reach the NHL.

  4. Brännström prefers the right side, he will likely play on the right side in the NHL once he’s more comfortable

  5. Ottawa d core.
    Chabot – JBD
    Sanderson- brannstrom
    Wolanin- thomson

Brans prefers the right side. And him and Sanderson on the same pair makes the most sense since Sanderson is a shut down physical player.

  6. DAMN RIGHT! put some respek on the senators lego.

I was actually very comfortable with Sanderson come draft day, he was the better more well-rounded defenceman in this draft. He has a very underrated offensive game and he's gritty and has some bite to him, which Ottawa loves. Sanderson will compliment Braanstrom perfectly. Braanstrom can skate and take the puck up the ice and take some chances while Sanderson stays back and watches over the Blue Line.

After signing Murray, Dadonov. and Galchenyuk…. I think things are finally turning around in Ottawa.

  7. You forgot to mention our other North Dakota boy Tyler Kleven but that's ok because he's still fairly new to the scene.

This is how I project the lines of the future :

    Chabot – Thomson

    Braanstrom – Sanderson

    JBD – Kleven

(this is all theoretical of course, but that's how I would imagine it potentially looking.)

  8. You love us! You really, really love us!

    😂

You’re way too young to get that reference. 😐 (Google Sally Field Oscar speech if you want to destroy some brain cells.)

You know, I just finished scanning through a bunch of articles in The Athletic and elsewhere about how the Sens have the worst front office in the league, the worst arena in the league, how they screwed up the draft, how Dorian just spent $15 million and made the team worse (no seriously, it’s true, there’s a whole bunch of math involved), how Sanderson was a MASSIVE reach, how Matt Murray is a scrub and Anthony Duclair was their second best forward 😱 and omg they should be ashamed for not signing him @ $5 million AAV X 4 yrs and how they won’t even be a real franchise until they have a stadium downtown. 🙁

That last one hurt. Ottawa, the most successful NHL franchise in the country of Canada since 1997, is not a real franchise. Not that that’s saying much. Still, what have I been cheering for? 🙁

Anyway it was SERIOUSLY getting to me! 😐 I was getting a case of the glums. Then you came along. 😍

Yes, I have been very excited watching this group of young defenseman get drafted (or acquired), grow and mature. I’m getting a little impatient for a few more of them to actually join the team, But hopefully Brannstrom 😚 can establish himself this year and then next year Sanderson (if things go well this year), Bernard-Docker, and Thomson may all be ready at least for a chance. Certainly Bernard-Docker should be getting pretty ripe. Thomson will at least merit a spot in Belleville and many think Sanderson should be ready then as well, given his very mature, complete game, his excellent hockey sense, his size and his skating. Should be a fun juggling act for DJ Smith.

Sometime early this fall you started reporting the rumors that the Sens were interested in Sanderson. At the time I was a dumbass, Sanderson-wise, and I might’ve pouted. I was converted by you and by Draft Dynasty guy, well before the draft and was thrilled when the Sens picked him. Anyway, just so you know, I heard it from you first.

  9. I’d argue that Makar/Byram/Girard/Toews/Barron/Graves is superior. Still a great young blueline though

  10. Chabot, Sanderson, Brannstrom, Bernard-Docker and Thomson. That is absolutely stacked.

  11. Sens d depth (prospects)
    Sanderson
    Brannstrom
    JBD
    Wolanin
    Lajoie
    Thompson
    Guenette
    Kleven

    3 years projected:

    Chabot-JBD
    Wolanin-Brannstrom
    Thompson-Lajoie
    7th Kleven

  12. People are laughing at Melnyk for saying Sens will be a cup contender in the next 4 years. Imagine telling Avs fans the same thing in 2017 after having the 2nd worst season since the 92-93 Sens, they would've laughed in your face. Who the hell knows what happens in 4 years.

  13. Do a video on the less popular sens prospects. They have such a deep system I think it’d be cool

  14. Dude I actually just watched the video, I’m upset. People are sleeping on Christian Wolanin. Was looking to have a break out season on the sens last year. Got injured before preseason for basically the year.. Whatever…

  15. Ottawa will win the cup sometime in the next 4-5 years in 2-3 they will be contenders but it’s hard to argue against a team that on paper will have a d core of
    Chabot-JBD
Sanderson-Brannstrom (he prefers to play the right side)
    Wolanin/jaros-Thomson

    And forward lines like
    Tkachuk-Stuetzle-Batherson
    Formenton-Norris-Abramov
Or something along those lines I’m just going off the top of my head

And for goalies we have Matt murray for now who hopefully has a bounce back year which I think he will and good goalie prospects coming up in gustavsson
    Daccord
    Mandolese
    And søgaard who’s 6’8” I believe

  16. Oilers have a pretty good d core of future
    Broberg – Bouchard
    Jones- bear
    Legson- ?

  17. Wolanin will be top 4 D-man on this team for a long time. He will turn heads this year

  18. What do you think about Christian Wolanin? He's a bit older and had an injury setback last year, but he has consistently outperformed Brannstrom at the NHL level. Great skater and he seems like a smart player.
