Give it a rest already.
Sigh
Well yeah, because his choices are to get paid to not play hockey or to not get paid to not play hockey.
If we’re blaming completely unrelated things on Chuck Fletcher, I’m pretty mad that my new IKEA cabinet didn’t come with the proper screws. DAMN YOU FLETCHER!!!
I mean this happens. Why would he retire and forfeit money? Rathje was on the books for years. Career ending injuries happen and it’s good for players the money is guaranteed
This website produces the lowest tier of content imaginable.
He’ll be on the Coyotes payroll soon enough.
Fletcher should have traded his contract to a cap floor team last year but as we all know, Fletcher’s entire strategy was based on hope and nothing else.
Players do this all the time. This is not really newsworthy.
So Ryan Ellis is like every other hockey player that has ended up in his situation. No hockey player is going to retire before their contract ends and forfeit money.
Can they buy him out and spread the money out and save against the cap ? Or what ? Someone explain ?
Y’all really trying to make us hate a guy for not turning down millions of dollars he earned to sit on his couch?
Like there ain’t a damn soul among us that wouldn’t do the exact same thing. Chuck bought a lemon and we got stuck with the bag. Simple as that
so this article is just kinda pointing out exactly the way the CBA works…?
I don’t begrudge him for tying up the money, and I hope he doesn’t begrudge me for resenting him for it.
