    Agitate, just stop diving.

Everyone is up in arms about last night but he definitely flopped on the second cross check. Yah the ref should have called the first one, but he didn’t. The embellishment was earned on the second one.

  2. Svalbard38

1 all the way. He’s getting called anyway, might as well get his money’s worth.

  3. It doesn’t matter what he does. The fix is in.

  4. faceWIABonfire77

Be the piece of shite that would make Scarborough proud.

But actually when was the last time we had a player like this? Tucker/Roberts? It is valuable in the playoffs. Even if it comes with some penalties, the successful kill is a boost in its own right.

  5. Reggae4Triceratops

Fight Vasilevskiy and knock him out cold

  6. BORT_licenceplate27

Why can’t he do both. You can get under people’s skin and not get penalized for it. Brand Marchand does that his whole career. Talk shit and do little things that annoy people but not enough to get penalized for it.

  7. InternationalBrick76

Force the league to call him like they have been. Shine a light on this bullshit. This league is fucked.

  8. howsshegoin

maybe watch the games. the leafs can’t afford to have a sideshow and he’s been of minimal impact offensively. I prefer kerfoot in his role and that’s an understatement.

Let me paint game 1 for you.

The Lightning will come out, and be WAY overly aggressive than should be allowed. They’ll make several hits in the first 5 minutes that should be called, but they won’t. Perry will straight up kill somebody in front of the ref, there will be no call.

Around the 14 minute mark, the Leafs will finally get fed up and respond to the Lightning’s style of play. At the first sign of the Leafs getting physical, the refs will immediately decide it’s time to start managing the game, they’ll call a penalty on the Leafs, and Tampa will be up 1-0 on a PP goal before the 12 minute mark.

  10. Crizzacked

    1. We have seen when he doesnt, and its not good.

  11. shindleria

Scout the refs. Not all of them are out to get him.

  12. Patient_Effective_49

    3. Don’t mouth off to officials.. even if they deserve it

  13. Bobbyoot47

Pretty simple answer really. Bunting has to go out there and play in a way that helps the team the most. That means he’s got to go out there and play how he’s always played and not worry about anything else.
But Bunting has to understand that once the whistle goes he has to stop. At that point the game belongs to the referees. Whether or not anybody likes it that’s just the way it is. He can still agitate while the play is on but once the whistle goes he’s got to cool his jets. And he has to quit flopping. He’s starting to remind me of Neymar.

I think the referees are going to tone down their head games with him in the playoffs. Even the refs know that if they do a shit job they don’t make it out of the first round either.

  14. Alextryingforgrate

Or just hear me out. Take notes from Marchand, all the notes and then be the Marchand for Toronto.

  15. TayOs1998

Bunting has been pretty chill of late but the refs keep allowing him to be abused because they don’t like him. It’s gonna lead to a playoff Kadri most likely.

  16. atlakehuron

Hybrid of both. GLG to 2nd round and beyond!!!

  17. AustichMavarlander

He doesnt have a choice but to play his game. If refs are going to keep « managing the game » and making up calls then hes fucked and cant be played. The NHL is a joke

  18. He’s gotta do the same thing the entire team needs to do: stop yelling at officials to make calls. We love to get bullied and stare at the refs asking them for a call. How about we just fight back for once?

  19. Throwawayaway23848

    3. Go after Jake Debrusk

I don’t care that Boston will probably get another team in the first round.. he can disguise himself in a Pens Jersey

  20. Current-Own

Tell every ref out there to kiss his ass. If Bunts played for any other team this wouldn’t be an issue.

  21. kingex11

Listening to Overdrive…Noodles is making clownish comments about Bunting..blaming him for not getting calls

  22. dolphin_spit

Fire a clapper at the next ref he sees

  23. Richard_Lycker

    1. Plus he should step up his physicality. Loved the big hit last night.

  24. Background-Half-2862

If he would shut up with the ref back talk he probably wouldn’t get so many soft penalties. Guys always going at the refs.

  25. nicksj2023

Agitator , it’s what the leafs have lacked for years and years ( I mean among like 6 other things ) . Bruins have it , lightning has it , caps had it . Most championship teams have that element who can draw penalties and disrupt the flows of games

  26. speed3ftw

He needs to play his game to be effective! The refs just need to call a clean game for once! I mean damn! I’d love to just keep track of all blown calls/made up calls for all teams, especially this year! It seems like it is the worst it’s ever been!

  27. CdnRageBear

He could be up in the press box and the refs would still give him a penalty

  28. OzzieNewYork

Bunting is the Original Dirty Dancer.

  29. TheLoomingMoon

Gonna get suspended anyways so go earn it

  30. GlobalDaddyTime

    1. Play Murray game 1
    2. have Bunting destroy Vassy….he gets ejected.
    3. Perry will take out Murray…. with a sneeze or something.

Perry Vassy Murray and Bunting gone for several games. That’s what he should do.

  31. artwarrior

    3. Score more goals than the other team.
    1 and 2 are secondary . Lol.

  32. Hockyinc

The people comparing Bunting to Marchand are funny.

  33. Hopfit46

Every shift he is trying to embarass the refs. He needs to tone it down a bit and keep getting under oppenents skin and just skate away a little quicker. Hes hurting the team and if the refs are calling it wrong(which they are sometimes) you have to play the hand you’re given.

  34. BornIn67

Leafs management, and I mean people far above Dubas, need to make it clear that won’t be acceptable. If it does happen the Leafs need to withhold the money the League uses to prop up money losing teams. They need to start forfeiting games against teams like Arazona. And they need to start a campaign to move Arizona to Quebec City. They have been patsys for far too long.

  35. BackTo1975

Who is this guy who’s supposed to be a supreme agitator? Bunting sure isn’t that. He’s a pretty soft guy who’s known for his big mouth. Darcy Tucker, he ain’t.

I get being a homer and all and I think the Leafs have historically been boned by bad calls. But come on. If Bunting played like a traditional agitator who got under the skin of opposing players, we wouldn’t be having this conversation in the first place. It’s the greasier stuff he pulls that’s gotten him targeted by officials.

I agree it isn’t fair, but I wish the guy would focus on playmaking and scoring, because he’s no agitator and he has little physicality in his game. He’s more worthwhile trying to contribute on the scoresheet than by pissing people off.
