Well, they may not have won but at least they were putting up every shot they could.

At least Hynes is pretty much guaranteed to be out of here at the end of this season. That’s the only silver lining I’ll be able to see for the rest of the season.

I don’t mind the outcome, the kids keep it fun.

Preds lost 5-1 the last time I was in Dallas so at least they’re consistent

If you’re wondering “how can this same team dominate St. Louis but then get crushed by Dallas? Can the real Preds please stand up?”

It’s because there’s such a huge chasm between the haves and have-nots this year. I don’t have a great memory but I can’t remember a time that this many teams sold out for a higher draft pick. Honestly, the Preds selling off like they did would usually be mark of a team that’s ready to lose. But it says a ton about how BAD teams are this year that we’re still basically batting .500 with all of our stars either traded or injured.

We desperately need to get rid of Hynes and totally clear out our coaching staff. Every part of our game has been flaccid for a while, especially the power play. Guys are standing absolutely still or gently rotating back and forth between two positions. They’re not dynamic at all. Three guys in the umbrella, one in the high slot, one in front of net. Shoot for rebounds or tips. More grinder bullshit.

I can see a world where this team is one amazing forward away from being a legit continder. Our D corp is not bad on paper – Josi, Mcdonagh, Barrie, Carrier, Fabbro, Lauzon. We have enough quality forwards to be competent with a lot of young talent with potential. If we’re not going to to continue to sell, we should be super aggressive in pursuing forwards. Make them offers they can’t refuse, so to speak.

Just keep in mind Hynes and all of his assistants are signed through next year on their contracts…. Granted I’m sure they won’t cost that much to buyout but part of me doubts this management would waste money on that especially as we are rebuilding now.
