  1. Nurse is the 7th highest paid defenceman in the league, and it's fair to judge him based on that. Like Draisaitl though, I do think it took him half a year to get over the injuries that were suffered last season, and playing 25+ minutes a game didn't do him any favours. With a rising salary cap and hopefully improvement year on year, by the end of his deal I expect most people, me included, will be okay with his deal.

  2. Congrats Nuuuge!!! For a keep-away competition in a small space, with no goals, no rushes, just puck possession, the first player you'd want on your side is RNH.
As for Soup, whatever ingredient you've found, go with it, we need you playing like this!
For the so-called "bottom six", every championship team needs a high-performing group (means more than just goals: physicality, shut-down D, etc). Looking good, hope Clouder gets in the rhythm soon too.

  3. The tempo of Oilers games has slowed methodically in the last couple weeks in particular~ absent are the manic offensive outbursts followed by immediate letdowns giving whatever they gained away quickly….. this team is maturing with a patient plan to win games….kudos to the team… defense wins cups. Wearing the opposition down in the trenches will result in playoff W's.

  4. Media should really take this phrase out of their mouths, "the won by out scoring the other teams" that's how it winning is done.

  5. Nurse has been great. People attach themselves to a narrative and refuse to let it go. They decided Nurse sucked and they’re sticking to it. He could win the Norris next year and still have a large group of haters.

Nuge is Huge hitting 100 points for the first time in his career. The guys made sure to pass it to him for him to get an assist on the empty netter. McDavid at 148 points (just 2 from 150 with 3 games (2 against SJ)) left. Oilers sitting 3rd in conference just 1 point back of Vegas (who have a game in hand). Vegas and LA face each other today. LA is 3 points back of us (again, game in hand). If LA wins it actually helps us in many ways as we'll still only be 1 point back of Vegas (and all tied up in games with us facing SJ twice and Colorado once). Today we had an illustration of Depth coming through. The big guns did the work yesterday and today the 4th line contributes with 2 goals out of the 3 we got (with the 3rd being that empty netter). Campbell with a good night only letting in one Troy Terry shot. Bjugstad had the game winner (again depth came through). Look at the TOI for this one. Top 4 are D with Kulak not far behind that. Leon, Connor, and Kane getting under 19 minutes, low event game (one penalty each). Take care all

  7. It did look like the top guns were taking it easy in this game. Good to see the depth guys step up. And yes, Jack Campbell held his own.

  8. I know it's game management coming to the finish line of the regular season but was hoping McDavid would hit the 155+ pts. total….

  9. The only thing Nuge can’t do is grow a moustache. It looks like he glued on some of the trimmings of skinners stache. Lol

  10. I disagree that Kulak lost a battle. He created the problem himself. He was mere feet from clearing the zone with no pressure and he stopped and turned back like he was Leon Draisaitl. That third pairing has to play simple straightforward hockey and not get all fancy to be effective. Kulak has to understand who he is, Desharnais seems to.
