What a release! Glad to see him producing again.

It looked like he had the whole rink to himself there.

He had a strong game tonight overall. His line was by far the best line. Although it helps to play with Markus Krüger, but he held his own. He also plays pp1 in the bumper and gets good shots off. He his very good at moving around in the bumper and be an option all the time for his team mates. He was also on the ice in the end when they pulled the goalie chasing the equalizer. Sometimes he tries to make a too fancy of a play, instead of a simple one. Otherwise, a great playoff for him so far!

Anyone else think the larger ice surface doesn’t give a great translation of skill? Obviously he can shoot but he had literally all the time and space in the world.

  5. Seems to be getting back to being the player we drafted.

Nice to see him having some success after this hard year. Hopefully he can turn things around.

I forgot he was a righty. Skating looks good.

Good to see Lekkeremaki finishing the year with some positive momentum.

Earlier in the year, this fanbase was very quick to label him a bust or a bad pick. It was a completely reasonable pick, the problem was his less than ideal fortunes in his D+1 season. That’s more a development issue than a draft issue.

The reality is, any player you are taking at 15 is basically a 50/50 shot to carve out a 100+ game career. You need a lot of things to go right on a prospects development path, and JL is no exception.

Reminder that Jonathan Lekkerimäki was one of the very youngest players in last year’s draft class.

It might/probably will take him a little bit longer to develop than some of the players taken around him. Especially with injuries that he faced this season.

Good for him on getting back on track.

Oh man. I know being negative does nothing, but the disappointment when I saw allsvenskan playoffs and not shl players is pretty big

people were counting him out, yet another canucks prospect that fans get impatient with and want to get rid of (and yet fans want to rebuild), but here he is showing the value inherent in being patient with prospects. without a doubt someone like Higgins or the Sedins have been in his ear giving him tips, and now you see that Lekk has a compete level in him that is able to trump some pretty majour adversity.

I believe in this kid and its great to see him performing.

Hoping he has a strong playoffs and next year, he has a really strong year. We need him to hit as a prospect, since he’s like one of two higher end prospects that we have in the system at this moment (depends on who we select in the 2023 draft).
