I defended trading Bjorkstrand because I really wanted to keep Voracek for Sillingers sake. He was a huge mentor for Cole and primary assisted a ton of his goals. In hindsight, we should’ve kept Oli but hey that’s easy to say now

The goaltending to me is the biggest disappointment by far. Elvis is the guy now, and he’s not a young rookie anymore. Next year he will be 29 and it will be year 5 for him. If he doesn’t put it together next year it’s never going to happen.
The biggest positive surprise is despite a lot of shit around them, I thought our younger players have shown to be good pieces. Like, the players 25 and younger were the stars of the team. Laine, Johnson, Marchenko, Boqvist (when healthy), even Foudy is starting to show some signs of putting it together lately. Imagine what they can do with an actual NHL coaching staff.

Surprises: 1) Marchy is pretty sweet, and probably better than advertised. 2) There is hope with the kids in Cleveland. While they have shown flashes, all will basically be role players. 3) Who the heck had Laine at center on their bingo card? That took everyone by surprise. Disappointments: 1) Injuries and the decimating amount of them, 2) Silli really missing Jake. A concussion took away the swizzle stick that made Sillinger great. Can he grow some chemistry another distributor next year? 3) Elvis. Whether it has been a physical or mental issue, Elvis and his struggles have been brutal to watch, and for him are probably maddening. I have hope a good off season can get him right.
