  1. As a life long non-bruins fan, I would love to see this outfit’s bubble burst in the first round. I have as my inspiration the 1971 Boston Bruins who similarly dominated the NHL 70/71 led by Orr and Esposito and went down in the first round to an old Habs team which missed the playoffs the year before and had a rookie goaltender (Ken Dryden).

  2. I saw this video recommended and instantly thought "wow this is exactly what I was looking for" absolutely love it

  3. Great video. On the "President's Trophy Curse" however, I ran the numbers since the trophy was introduced in the late 80s, and TLDR: Statistically, there is no President's Trophy Curse.

The PT winning team has the best odds out of any team to make the cup final and win the cup, by a sizeable margin.

Similar to the theme of this video, yes, the rest of the pack combined has better odds than the #1 seed, but the #1 seed has about a 15% advantage over any other team.

  4. The depth on defense can’t be matched by any team. Sweeney loaded up the forwards also to cover for injuries at the time. They have a third line that most teams would have as a 1 or 2.

  5. Fun fact, the last time the president trophy winner won the Stanley cup was in 2012-13, lockout year, and only 8 times the president's trophy has won, I don't think the bruins will make it past the 2nd round

  6. This is like Kc and eagles like everyones like Eagles gonna win Eagles gonna win and then that fumble cost the match. You cant bet on anything without a risk and looking at the rangers roster this year, they might pull an upset

  7. The Bruins are not the Tampa Bay lightning team that choked.

The team is balanced, with players that have plenty of playoff success, and great goaltending.

They are also the best team in the.league 5 on 5 which is a stat.thst really stands out.
That's a big deal in playoffs where penalties are called less often.

Other teams rely far more on PP success to win games.
I am by no means a Bruins fan, but their team is going deep – and barring injuries to top players- they have to be considered the front runner this year.

Maybe another teams goalie plays insanely well and steals a series somehow, but I would be shocked if they didn't at least make the cup final.

  8. Mentally, this Bruins team is ready. They lost to the Hawks and the Blues, I don't think they let up this year. The only team that scares me is Edmonton with that firepower

  9. I’d choose anyone else, and I’m a bruins fan. Simply the odds aren’t in our favor, just because we did what we did all season, and yes we have experience but this team needs to prove themselves at that stage if they’re going to win.

  10. President trophy has been out for 36 years and 8 teams have won the cup. I can rest easy knowing we have DEPTH, vezna winner AND the runner up essentially. Ya the maple leafs, about them, 1967 😂.

  11. My biggest concern is that historical teams like these Bruins, the 07 Patriots and the 2015 Dubs have a tendency of having disaster happen come playoff time.

Contrast them with the 2011 Bruins that no one saw winning it all.

  12. I really like your voice Shamack always thinks his team is the best because he is the best but i hope anyone can take his bruins out of the stanley cup my team is the Avalanche

  13. Playoffs are a whole new season. But let's face it, this team is awesome. Even the games they lost were great. It don't matter to me weather they win the cup or not, this team has given us fans a season of the best hockey I've ever seen. Besides the playoffs is just to short. Wish hockey was year round

  14. Devils fan bt if we don’t take it I don’t mind Boston takin it always been a decent good team through out the years

  15. Only 8 teams that won the Pres. Cup has reached Lord Stanley…

  16. i would bet 1000$ hands down that the Bruins wont win the CUP . Why ….. because they have a very old team and it's about to catch up to them!!!! PLAYOFF aint the regular season . + the EAST is way too strong !!!!!!! sadly Boston won't win the CUP .

  17. Bruins literally beating other top teams while resting 1st and 2nd liners and you saying they won't win rofl

  18. I'd take any other team bc u got more teams

  19. I feel like Bergeron and Krejci got together prior to signing their 1 year deals and said, "let's finally prove, once and for all, just how good this Bruins core has been, before we hang our skates up for good."

Now it's time to see if they can overcome their greatest hurdle yet, winning the Cup as the favorite to do so. The odds are definitely stacked against them

  20. I think your comments didn't go anywhere I'm sorry but if you look at the statistics which I played the game for many many many years and not a young person I watch the ores and the Richard's play . this all depends who is the hungriest even mediocre players can become great or great players become mediocre that's the key and I believe Boston's got all of this going for them.

  21. You take the Boston Bruins and compare Them to all the other teams in The NHL. We have the best 2 goals. Best Coach. That's not afraid to mix things up. Like this membrane the perception line from time to time to time to bring strength to oti realize. They have the best captain. Who makes it about team not? Himself. And leads by example? But mostly no one has a Brad mashawn on there Team. And I think hes one of the key ingredients that makes all the other players shine. And best of all you never yeah. Him talk about himself and how great it is. He just shows us night And and night out. By his performance. He definitely has a hockey HE ART. And i'm looking forward to Them bringing the cup home to Boston. Happy Easter. And enjoy the record breaking game tonight God bless

  22. Dont know if theyll win the cup but they likely get to round 3.
Lots of presidents trophy winning teams were skill but not will. Bostons core is gritty clutch playoff style players. I dont think the curse matters to guys like that. Teams on the other hand that are pure skill based and untested get a wake up.

  23. it doesn’t matter if you have the best record in the nhl. The Oilers took down the heavily favorited Red Wings at one time. So you might be one of the many to be brought back down to earth.

  24. Got that right. The Bruins will be in RUINS this year 😂

  25. If they don’t win the cup it’s because they wore them selves out winning the presidents trophy and breaking a 65 winning season

  26. The Bruins know how to win. TBL wasn't battle tested yet, but that loss made them what they are now. B's goalies play behind a great team, put them on a lesser team….Not looking too good!

  27. Every top team chokes always happens ..early exit comming watch it be the leafs take em out hahaha I could only wish

  28. What I like about the Bruins as a fan this year going into the Playoffs- the success doesn't seem to get to their head. Their foot is a little off the gas, they're resting guys, they don't run around yelling "we're gonna win this year". You can absolutely see that plenty of guys have experience with season vs post-season perfomance.

Seems like the Team knows just how different the Playoffs are. That's good. I'll just sit here, be fucking happy what the boys did already and brace myself for a 2019 Bolts-level implosion. Better to be surprised positively, right?
