The what ifs are hurting so bad with this season. The 8 game losing streak. The 4-5 games with 1 point in all. God. They could so easily be in this if not in for sure. You know what? I'm OK with that. I'm sort of disappointed but not alot. They're fighting till the end with the youngest team in turn league and probably will be next year as well. What is happening is what I wanted. Meaningful games in March. Sign Ryan Johnson and extend Dahlin and give him the C. Bring in a veteran top 6 winger, top 4 D man, and maybe a goalie and this team is easily a playoff team next year. So proud of the boys.
BTW this was by far there most physical game of the year. Even Tage was throwing his body around

I hope they learn from this season and learn how important the 1 goal losses meant and how important it is to beat the crap teams like Columbus and Chicago. We’ve lost to some crap teams this season . That 8 game losing streak really hurts even more now doesn’t it ! Even if we won two of those games we’d be in good shape and if we win half we’d be in the playoffs
It is official.. the Sabres are playing meaningful games into the last week of the season. Now we need some help and the sabres to keep it up.. but you never know…
Along with this Sabres win, the Amerks won 2 games on the road against Syracuse and Utica and are currently 2nd in the division and are guaranteed a playoff berth.
As for the remaining schedules.
Isles have Washington and Montreal. They'll likely get in.
Florida has the Leafs and Canes.
Tougher opponents.
Pittsburgh has Chicago and Columbus.
Yikes.

We need Florida to lose their remaining two games and then we need one of Pittsburgh or the Islanders to lose 1 game or if Florida doesn't lose out we need both the Islanders and Pittsburgh to lose 1 game and the Sabres got to win out to make it…
Would be insane if any of that happens but it is very unlikely seeing how both the Islanders and Penguins are facing easy teams for their remaining 2 games.
That Florida loss in regulation was the nail in the coffin probably.
At last, a game shown here in Britain at a normal time (for us Brits) that results in a win. Excellent performance with total effort. Why haven't they done that at home all year? Everything seemed to fall there way and Dahlin was a real pleasure to see here. No matter the outcome that was a real statement of intent. More please. 😊

Biron talked about the 03-04 season and how special it was. They were eliminated the 2nd last game of the season but they had Drury, Briere (and a crop of kids coming up after the lockout). It set the stage for two glorious seasons.

Wayne , if fans haven’t watched this team play this year , they really have missed some great entertaining hockey. If they miss the playoffs it will be disappointing because with few more wins at home it could have been different. Fantastic game by Dahlin and the aggressiveness was more evident.
