  1. Doesn't matter Habs fans.. just wait a few weeks and you'll be able to laugh as the leafs lose game 7 again

  2. Just salty Montreal fans. It's actually disgusting it came from a guy that plays on the team it shows the character and immaturity of Weidman

  3. a complete contradiction, not completely contradictary. good video still. i think the oilers did that to the blackhawks not too long ago. as a blackhawks fan, i don't remember it ruffling the hawks feathers when it happened to them.

  4. It’s just that wideman is out of contract and was out of the lineup more often then not. He has a hot temper. He still stand up for the team anyway saying the leafs are gonna get what they deserve in a few weeks. Fire started when Keefe yelled at the refs when they gave mtl pp after Edmundston crosschek. So, wideman is also saying that he believe leafs won’t win in playoffs with their attitude and behaviour. Leafs can maybe win a round, but they are not ready to win a championship. Maybe he is right, but he probably should have kept his mouth shut considering his status on the team

  5. As a Habs fan , I don't take it as disrespect. It's rather giving the goaly the only chance to play in the nhl level. Like a zamboni driver playing against the leafs.

  6. The disrespectful part was the Canadians scoring 1 goal…I have 0 issues with TO

  7. I think the disrespect came from the Habs team that mailed it in. Take an extra stride Chris Wideman

  8. If the Laffs had any class at all, they would have put this student into the game from the beginning. Why put him in, in the final minute.

  9. I hate Toronto with a passion, but I absolutely love what they did. Maybe don't get smashed 7-1?? And they weren't 'disrespecting' them with NHL players and veterans. They threw in the emergency backup because the opportunity was there with a big lead to make someone's dream come true. The people that have an issue with it are absolutely in the wrong. What a joke.

  10. The contradiction in saying ‘they shouldn’t ice their first pp unit’ but ALSO ‘they shouldn’t play their ebug’ lmao it’s ridiculous

  11. i like it when teams keep the pedal to the metal for the full 60 minutes. keefe was asked about bringing in the goaltender at the end of the game and he made it clear he didn't like it and that it came from the ivory tower. too bad the habs didn't score on him.

  12. I personally love the comment as it's hard to put a smile on your face when you're taking it on the chin all season, but I also think it was a classy gesture by Toronto putting the kid in.

People can say what they want, but the players are crazy competitive, and sometimes, when you're having a dumpster fire of a season, your emotions get the best of you .

  13. Habs fan here and as much as I hate the Leafs, I don't see any disrespect here (if there is some to call disrespectful, its for the home team to lose 7-1…would they put him on the ice if it didn't have a 6 goals lead? no)

  14. meh…. I can see. as a competitor, that not putting your best out against you can be a slight…and if he feels that way,. so be it. That's his feeling. It's something he has to deal with in the end. Having said that, go Tampa

  15. the habs were mad the leafs played a rookie player? lol the habs team is filled with no name rookies

  16. I don’t see the disrespect. The college kid is the best goaltender the Leafs have. As the playoffs will soon demonstrate more clearly.

  17. Chris Wideman needs to look at his stats for the game and then…..STFU. So what, the Leafs brought in a University level goalie in a 7-1 game with 1:10 left in the 3rd. So what. He might never get into another game in his life but He will be able to talk about that for the rest of his life. What a thrill. Im happy that he got to live his dream. I've also gained some respect for Keefe and the Leafs. Its a class act. Wideman needs to be less of a "sour grapes" and sore loser and just move on with his life. The funny thing is that the Habs could only muster 21 shots in this game so they have a LOT more things to worry about than what happened in the last 1:10 of the game. In all honesty, the Leafs could have put out a AAA team last night and still would have won. Who was in the penalty box when Tavares scored to make it 2-0? A certain Habs defenceman whose name rhymes with Wideman. I thought baseball players were over-sensitive snowflakes, but Wideman proves it isnt just ball players. Oh, and by the way…I AM a Habs fan.

  18. Montreal disrespected themselves for not playing ! Omg what a bum of a team ! Thumbs-up on trying to lay blame on your sub par playing Habs fans deserved more from you guys and you not Toronto let them down ! Montreal players should be Ashamed of themselves !

  19. What a stupid issue. There was one minute to play. It had nothing to do with insulting the Canadiens. The Canadiens are doing that all by themselves.

  20. Jesus what a non issue. The guy was in for just over a minute in a blowout in a meaningless game. It's not like he played the entire third period. They gave the guy one of the greatest moments of his life. It's been done before and it will be done again, just let him enjoy it for crying out loud.

  21. Of course, it seemed like a blur, it was only a minute. Leafs should have put Alexander in with 5 minutes to go, given him an opportunity to make a save.

  22. the leafs disrespecting anyone lol

    haven't won a series in how long ? they're a joke lol

  23. The two arguments are inherently contradictory. One the one hand it's disrespectful to put in a lesser player but on the other they should put in lesser players on the PP? Preposterous.

  24. It's how the Leafs did this stunt that is the problem. It's 4-1 leafs after two periods. Why not put the goalie in for the entire third period? This reminds me of a past game where a team had a sizeable lead late in the third and their coach called time out. The other bench and coach erupted with anger as they should have! When I was a youth forty years ago we had a mercy rule in baseball. This was to teach children sportsmanship! How is it all these years later that sportsmanship is dead and a thing of the past, Fans are entitled to their opinion, personally, I think it was wrong.

  25. No disrespect to the Habs for what the Leafs did but the Habs have to look at themselves and they sucked last night, they wanted to suck for Bedard and that's what they did.
