I understand that Mark Cuban is trying to think long-term rather than just right now, but at the same time when you still have a punchers chance to make the postseason and you would rather shut down and quit rather than compete until the end, to me that’s just not a good look and a bad precedence to set for your franchise. Your franchise player that is also one of the 5 to 10 best players in the league just coming into his prime, wanted to compete and try and you went the other direction.

Media knew the Mavs were tanking months ago, but they get more clicks by trashing Kyrie and Luka than by saying Cuban, Nico, and Kidd intentionally made their team lose a season to get a draft pick. You realize Luka is a net neutral defender (+0.4 defensive efficiency rating). He doesn't hurt of help his team on defense/ players score their avg when being guarded by Luka. The issue is the entire team is either net neutral or have negative defensive ratings. Luka is top 20 in steals & ball deflections. He simply chooses to not run back/ participate in defense multiple plays during a game, the question is why.

Dallas has no defensive bigs. No rebounding. It's literally a layup line when you play the Mavs. Basketball is a team defense, when your man gets passed you, you need a reliable center/ PF to protect the rim. The Mav's are literally the only team in the NBA that doesn't have that. Luka packed it in mid season because the roster sucks. Mavs were the 4th seed before Kyrie played a single game on a weak roster. The roster just got weaker. Watch Luka request a trade next year & I wouldn't blame him. Mavs front office is terrible

Any team in this era would take no defense if it meant they got Luke's offensive output. Most players will give you SLIGHTLY more effort on defense, but nowhere near the offense. As with most topics, Plaxico's double digit IQ is on display again.

They weren’t in control of there own destiny OKC only needed 1 win to knock them out of the play in & a Mavs loss instead of winning out & ending up with the 11th pick they decided to lose the game to keep there 10th pick which they need because they have lack of assets on the team. OKC last game of the season is against the Grizzlies & the Grizzlies are resting everyone like the Mavs & everyone knew they would so OKC will win it which would’ve knocked out the Mavs anyways and they would’ve played for nothing. No team in the NBA is going to intentionally win against OKC to allow Luka & Kyrie into the playoffs over OKC no matter how bad the Mavs have looked since the trade. I've learned this not even working for billionaires but working for businesses in general especially the two moving companies I've worked for. It's rare for a business owner to genuinely care about the customer and their employees and even when they do its usually helping their bottom line in some way. Only way to revolt is your wallet and attention. Don't buy jerseys, watch the games buy tickets, etc. And it would take a large sum of people doing this not just a few. Nothing changes if you complain in comment sections and Twitter yet still make bets, watch the games, watch the media talk about them, etc
