That’s actually less that I thought he’d get. Protects the guys, doesn’t seem to mind eating pucks, eats minutes as well.

Hell yeah happy we’re keeping him another year

That means Seth, Murphy, Zaitsev, and Tinordi are locks unless they buy out Zaitsev. Seems like Vlasic is ready to make the jump. Do they leave a spot open to cycle in and out prospects or do they resign Caleb?

  4. That’s honestly very surprising considering all the young guys we have fighting for spots next year lol

I have to imagine the roster looks something like this to start the season:

    Korchinski-Jones

    Vlasic-Murphy

    Jones-Zaitsev

    Tinordi

Tinordi could swap out for Caleb Jones on the bottom pair but Tinordi-Zaitsev would be disastrous lol also no guarantee Korchinski sticks around, especially in the top four, all season long but you still have guys like Kaiser, Phillips, and Roos that definitely deserve NHL time and then Del Mastro and Allan that may prove to be ready.

I know bottom pair minutes in the NHL aren’t as valuable as top minutes in the AHL for the younger guys but with *so many* prospects ready to fight for their chance to play I kind of hate we’re sticking with another bad veteran lol if Tinordi is anything more than an injury backup and mostly Rockford guy I will be pissed.

All that said, if he takes Zaitsev’s spot and the young guys rotate in on the right side bottom pair then I can definitely live with that lol as long as we don’t have both of them consistently in the lineup

He’s worked hard for us and has been effective. Don’t mind him one but.

Good for him finding a second career here, although we have so many veteran D and could use more youth infused.
