I’m glad the league realized their job is in sports entertainment and being forced to start an OHL goalie is a bad look.
Good. He and everyone needs to know how he will do in a game like this. I think he’s more than ready.

All it took was the threat of embarrassing the league.
What I don’t get is where they found those OHL guys they practiced with this morning? They are in the road on Florida and they just happened to bring 3 OHL goalies with them?
As much as I wanted to see the clusterfuck of an ATO starting tonight. I’m glad Woll is getting a look against Tampa. I think he’s shown he has the ability to be a strong back up and depending on Murray we could see him on the bench game 1.
This was always obvious despite what the media said. The only reason he couldn’t play last game is the Leafs signed Knies. We played a man down yesterday and didn’t make a roster move since, that means we’re eligible. It’s black and white. Especially with Lafferty, and Gustafsson being injured.
Like I said… there was no way the league was going to deny the recall after we played short last night. But it’s also really dumb if Woll didn’t know he was playing until 5 hours before the game.
I don’t know about you guys, but I’m excited to see Woll play tonight.

Woll has looked really good this year. It’ll be good for him to get a look at Tampa before the playoffs start.
It does feel like the leafs got away with one here… good for Woll to get in there and see some action because there is a good chance he sees some game time in the playoffs.
Wow the leafs can afford to dress their backup goalie, that’s the kind of drama I like in my professional sports league

Maybe the NHL realized how embarrassing this would be if they saw some rando goalie in net during one of their biggest broadcasts in the season.
I wonder if the league allowed this ecause it was specifically Tampa that we are playing. I mean fans/media could bring up all kinds of stuff about salary cap circumvention with them in the year they went on to win the cup.
Maybe the league just didn’t want the headache.
I think they should just get it over with put Murray on LTIR and put Woll in as the backup for the duration. I was on board with getting Murray this year. I was hoping he could rediscover his mojo and get us over the hump but all he’s done is reaffirm his China doll reputation. I think the team is much more comfortable playing in front of Woll than Murray.
Imagine if we homegrow a starter.
I hope we blow out TB and let Onuska play the last minute. Wankers.
