Why in the sweet fuck wasn’t Athanasiou traded

  2. MostMirror

That was a severely disappointing W. Like I’m legitimately bummed

  3. jjb8712

With the 3rd overall pick in the 2023 NHL draft…

  4. Chrunddle

I guess Will Smith is just a good as Bedard.

  5. dangshnizzle

If only there were opportunities earlier in the season to ensure this wouldn’t be happening.

  6. Well we were in last place by ourselves for a good 20 minutes. And now somehow we’re third last. Pain.

  7. LearningToFlyForFree

All I’m sayin’ is that if you lose to the post-trade deadline 2023 Blackhawks, you deserve to miss the playoffs. Fuckin’ bunch of overpaid, Yuengling-drinking yinzer bums.

  8. sandman730

    * The Hawks extended Tinordi for 1 yr x $1.25M.
    * Murphy scored from the point. His set a new career-high with 7 goals this season.
    * Robinson scored his first goal of the season.
    * Athanasiou scored from behind the goal line.
    * The Hawks scored 2 ENGs.
    * Mrazek saved 38-of-40.
    * The Hawks improve to 16-4-3 against the Penguins in the salary cap era.
    * Tank report:
    * The Hawks have the 2nd-worst .358 points percentage (58 points in 81 games). The Blue Jackets have the league-worst .356 (57 points in 80 games).

I know yall aren’t thrilled but as a panthers fan I will forever love you all. I hope you get Bedard just bc of this fuck it go for it I JUST KNOW MTL ISNT GETTING HIM WITH OUR PICK HAHAHAHA FUCK THE HABS

  10. IDquad8819

This is exactly why tanking is an idiotic strategy. Trading away young guys like DeBrincat and Hagel for picks and to tank (therefore driving away a franchise icon like Kane), only for bums like Buddy Robinson to ruin it at the end of the season. Waste of a season if they pick outside of the top 3 based on the strategy they went with

  11. everynamewastaken626

I’m probably the only person not disappointed. But, I’m happy to contribute to the Pens missing the playoffs

  12. sarbear0903

Curse you Connor Murphy for starting all of this scoring stuff tonight!

  13. NordicReagan

As an Islanders fan, I just wanted to thank y’all. Great showing tonight.

Best of luck in the Bedard sweepstakes! I’ll be pulling for ya.

  14. sarbear0903

Time to root for the Ducks to beat the Cannucks!

  15. Higuy013

Thank you pens. Thank you flames. Thank you 4 game heater for Kaner’s send off(can’t be too mad I guess). Thank you Buddy fucking Robinson.

One of the greatest American tanks squandered by some shocking play. Here’s hoping for some magic in the lottery

  16. ExtracurricularLoan

Panthers fan here. I hope you still get Bedard. I hope he gets 100 points and you make the finals. Thank you so much.

  17. Sharobob

If we’re gonna fuck up getting last place, we might as well do it while preventing the Pens from getting into the playoffs for the first time in nearly two decades

  18. nebthenet

Islanders fan here to say thank you and I love deep dish !!!

  19. Designer-Brief-9145

Does Mrazek have a charity or cause that he supports(or lacking that do the hawks have one that they associate with)? Islanders fan here looking to make a donation in his name as a thank you.

  20. HaggisNachos

If this isn’t cause for Petr Mrazek to be fired into the sun I dunno what is. Not the game you can afford to win. Sigh…

  21. R0enick27

Wtf, they had one job with CBJ getting an ot point..

  22. Capable-Average4429

Minnesota tried to outtank the tank yesterday and couldn’t pull it off. These fucking ~~Pittsburgh Penguins~~ Pennsylvania Mummies face off against the 2022-23 post trade deadline Chicago Blackhawks, at home, with Chicago on a back to back, and do this. I’m all for the tank, but an opponent like this needs to be put down. It’s an act of mercy that will be rewarded in this life or the next.

  23. MysteriousCult

So we’re all just switching to Bears, right?

  24. sarbear0903

CBJ’s last game is against the Penguins. Hopefully they play this version of the Penguins and get 2 points.

  25. Bobgoblin

Feels like ANA, CBJ, and CHI have all been bungling their tanks whenever they get near pole position, while SJ lately has just been quietly and casually getting blown out.

  26. How big of a baby was Crosby for crying that Johnson actually had the audacity to try to score an empty net goal? Unless he’s a closet Hawks fan rooting for the tank…

  27. Fonzie5

I love you. Go get Bedard you beautiful winners you deserve him

    -Isles Fan

  28. sticks_04

Thank you guys for giving us a chance at the playoffs!

    -Islanders fan

  29. Capable-Average4429

I know y’all mad, but this one is on the Pens. Can’t kill the walking dead. Today was a beautiful day, Chicago. Things will be all right. Bettman will deliver, ye faithful.

  30. this win will set the franchise back a decade

  31. IMKudaimi123

I’d trade a white Sox win for this to be a loss

  32. schultze1130

Panthers fan coming in peace. Thank you!

  33. dangshnizzle

So many of you are suddenly on board the tank. Where were you when this exact same thing happened dozens of times this season? This isn’t the result of a single night. This is the result of a team not actually torn down.

The moment Davidson got wind of Toews not waiving, he should have been shopping Murphy with that final retention slot. Athanasiou should have been dumped for future considerations. Khudobin should be starting far more often. But whatever. We’re more likely to pick 5th OA than any other spot and that’s the way it is.

  34. CousinCleetus24

Bro I’m pissed. This win feels like the world balancing out from the Texans giving the bears the first pick. Just no reason for it to happen. We need that first pick.

  35. ruppy99

It was quite fun being at PPG and seeing all the Pens fans going through an existential crisis

  36. dishonourableprince

Just finished watching the Mario movie and jeez this thread is something else lmao. I had a bad feeling the Hawks were gonna pull off a W against
one of the most inconsistent Penguins teams i’ve seen in recent memory.

Luckily Columbus snagged a point against Philly but it’ll take a miracle for this team to finish last. I still have faith going into the lottery but we’ll need a massive stroke of luck to win.
