I have zero faith in them and fully expect them to completely roll over for Dallas.
I found myself cheering for Detroit and Chicago the other day. It’s a strange time of year.
As a Houstonian I’m uniquely qualified when it comes to hating Dallas and praying for their downfall, so this is all very comfortable for me.
Honestly I find it easy easier to cheer on the Blues than the Stars, and that’s because the Blues aren’t a rival. Yeah they’re in our division, but a true rival needs more than that. They have to beat us when it matters, and the Blues have never accomplished that. 2001 playoffs, bubble play in, 2021 playoffs, 2022 playoffs, the Blues have managed a pitiful 3-13 record against in the/bubble, to go along with 3 series losses. We also beat them in Game 82 to make the playoffs in 2018 and keep them out.
The Blues hate us I’m sure, and Binnington is a chode, but I hate Dallas, Minnesota, and even still Detroit a lot more. Beat us in something meaningful once in your pathetic existence, Blues, then we can talk rivalry.
Besides a win will only hurt their draft odds so I have no problem saying go Blues!
At least Binnington isn’t in net tonight (he will be tomorrow). It would be nice not to have to have to root for them tomorrow.
Meh. I feel like Seattle or Minnesota is the same quality. Would rather they rest everyone and go into playoffs refreshed.
Do we win the conference if we win out and Vegas loses their last game? Do we have the tie breakers over the Oilers and the Knights?
As an NFL fan I find myself in this situation a lot. What I do is I don’t root FOR the team I hate, I root against the team I need to lose.
Also, if the Blues win it has a chance to make their draft pick worse, so there’s that.
Same thing with a player like Sidney Crosby. I can’t stand the guy, never have, but when he scored the golden goal for Canada in 2010 I just pretended it was another guy with the same name.

I’m thankful that we’re guaranteed home ice in the first round, at least. Plus we know we won’t play Dallas out of the gates either.
I don’t mind facing either Seattle or Minnesota to begin. We’ll handle either just fine.
I hope Dallas loses and has to play Minnesota for the first round. Im a little bit worried about Seattle though. Nothing scarier than telling a pro team they aren’t going to win shit so give up. Seattle is gunna be hot and playing freely which makes them dangerous.
