This article is hot garbage. No team is tanking to avoid the Oilers, just to play Colorado, Dallas, or VGK. The Oilers have proven time and time again, as have Toronto, that having a single good player that scores a ton of goals means fuck all when it comes to the playoffs. I don’t get why everyone fears Edmonton when they ~~haven’t made it past round one of the playoffs in my 30 years of life~~.
Edit: As has been pointed out, Edmonton has advanced past the first round ONCE in my entire life.
Edit 2: Looks like they also went past the first round in 2006, but that was never really the point of my post
