Thought this would be interesting to those here given rumours of management’s interest in Reinbacher. Reminds me a lot of EP’s video on Guhle in his draft year, and many of their comments on his potential offensive growth make sense given what we have seen from Marty so far.

Don’t know if I would take Reinbacher with #5/6 if other options like Moore/Smith are available or if one of the projected top four drops, but if the Habs pick 7/8 and have someone later in the first or second they like as a forward, I could be onboard.

To my amateur eyes, the sequence at 3:34 is incredible. In a few seconds, a dangerous rush from the opposing team is completely dead, but not only that, his team regains possession cleanly for a counterattack. Over a full game, an accumulation of plays like this will really tilt the ice in your favor and help your team win.

I really like Smith and Benson, but after seeing this, I really wouldn’t mind Reinbacher. Though the Habs have been lacking a proper game breaking forward for so long. Decisions, decisions…

I think many of us have this feeling that we’re drafting Reinbacher and trading for PLD.

I think that would set us up for a run of relative competitiveness, but probably not stanley cup contention unless a few members of our young core become truly elite players or we pull an elite player out of a hat

I really don’t know. I don’t envy HuGo – many difficult decisions ahead. As much progress as it feels like we’ve made since ditching Bergevin, we have a long way to go.

Here’s to hoping it’s not too long. Warm weather, playoff hockey, no Habs. Not right
