*Friedman says keep an eye on Matt Mcilvane as the next Gulls coach and long term Ducks coach prospect. No word if the current Ducks assistants are staying*
Everyone was worrying because Verbeek wasn’t directly outspoken about what he’d do. This was the obvious outcome, Verbeek is just more professional than the Vancouver front office.
I wonder who they are considering for the next coach. Is anybody else wondering if they will at least give Bruce an interview?

Won’t defend his coaching ability, but the Samueli’s are right on the money about him being a man of character. Hoping for the best for him.
Let’s give Selanne a chance as coach.
Hopefully, this is just the beginning of getting rid of our weak staff and creating a team that can not only coach, but develop talent better than we have.

This gives me more hope for this organization. Verbeek has yet to show that he’ll settle for anything less than a championship for this team. And I like Eakins as a person, but it was obvious he was in over his head at the NHL level.
I wish him the best of luck with his future team and a genuine ty for the top #3 pick.
