Thank goodness. We needed to clean house. This organization has a talented, core group that can realistically win for a few more years but has essentially no supporting cast. The lack of attempt at replacing that cast this year was borderline criminal

I was absolutely ok with them trying to stay as a playoff team while Sid, Geno, Letang are around, but the pieces around them are so shaky now. Jarry had a horrible year, Petry was meh, so many invisible depth players, and the Granlund trade

Good. I’d just as soon not have Brian Burke in the league at all. Ever since I heard what he did to Peter Zezel, I’ve wanted to see that man run out of the league.
Sorry for Hextall and Pryor, though. But I think the Penguins needed to shake things up. Missing the playoffs with the core they have is really worrying.
