Something had to happen. Army has been vocal about backing Berube, and if that’s the case then something was gonna have to change with the assistant coaches.

  2. Even more than player moves, I was hoping to see McTavish and Van Ryn made available to the competition. Coaching wasn’t the whole problem, but it sure seemed like a big part of it.

I’m hoping coaching was why our defense struggled so much…

I’m not normally for people losing their jobs, but someone had to go. I’m not surprised in the least to see that it was Van Ryn. I didn’t really have an opinion on McTavish, but obviously BDD was not happy with him.

    >assistant coaches Craig MacTavish and Mike Van Ryn will not be returning to the team for the 2023-24 season.

    First W of the offseason

Missing the big one, but this is still good

Well. That’s a start. Now let’s move one of those defense contracts at the deadline next year. For more picks young guys. Assuming one of the three big contracts come off the books along with scandella that’s 10M right there freed up for thr 2024 season.

And there you have it. Let’s have a good draft, firm up our defense with a good signing or two, and get ready for October!

Berube’s leash is probably shortened to half a season. If they have an overhaul of the staff, have a halfway decent off season and Doug has a solid redemption arc and the team still flops before Christmas, we could be talking another Mike Yeo situation.

Love Chief, I appreciate everything he has done, but this teams woeful defense and awful special teams is ultimately on him. These next several months are maybe the most important of his career

MacT fired again big shocker. Wonder where he lands next lol

We need to have a former player turned coach who was good at playing PK and PP, almost like an Upshall type of player turned coach to manage special teams.

One ex-Oiler manager down, one to go.

  13. McTavish was a head scratcher hiring from the get go.

Got my wish already. Good start to the off-season boys and girls lets go

Anyone ever noticed how, when we brought Hitchcock back in an advisory role, everything went off the rails again?

    Food for thought.
