Jets 2018 core were (Buff, Wheeler, Trouba, Connors, #55, and Laine). So Trouba, Buff, Laine is gone (but PLD is here). #44 is core now. Wheeler is aging out. So the Jets have transitioned 50% of the 2018 core and 3 top USA draft prospects are on the way. So 50 % thru a rebuild & this team might make the playoffs. That is not bad. PLD, Wheeler & Cole (50% of the top 6 were injured) during the Jet recent slump. Yes Jets likely won’t win a playoff round this year most likely.

realistaclly, the jets just need a retool, not a rebuild. Schief and Wheeler need to go.. we can still build around Kyle Connor and Ehlers, Ehlers needs more playing time period…. he has had a bad year and the ijury put him behind but i still beleive in him.
id love to keep PLD but i dont think he would stay……
so Chevy needs to go out and find a couple of centerman. unless Perfettie moves to 2nd C and we go find a 1C.
i would send out prospects, Demelo, Schmidt and picks to aquire better defenseman and then send (Schief wheeler PLD) for replacement Center,…

Stanley might still have some pull for a trade package as well we have other prospects.. connor and ehlers still prime Hella still good, Bowness has finnaly figured out the bottom 6. and its working they look the best on the team right now.. so i wouldent do much changing there.
The reality is the Jets are a draft and development team, and being traded is no threat to any player, they play hard to build up their value and to get out by their UFA status, I believe Scheifele, Connor and Wheeler are deliberately not shooting and missing the net on purpose. Case in point Connor is only making 5 mill this year and has 28 goals probably end up with 30, he's given them their 5 mill worth and now is deliberately dogging it, same with Scheifele and his 38 goals will likely get 40 which is the Jets 6 million worth. Chevy has to draft Western hockey league players to build a team that won't quit. Until he does, this is what Jets fans will get.

This team is and has the same problems as our football club had until the rot at the top is cleaned. So what now Chevy? another 12 year rebuild with maybe 1 good year ? As far as this year goes , when the injured players came back the team started skidding. Ehlers wants to play the game his way, PLD wants out of town and Mark Scheif, your lack of effort is very disappointing. Knowing your beliefs you know better. You guys have all been blessed with talent so you can make a good living but it's the fans that pay your way .GO ĴETS
Can we cut Blake some slack I sorta think he’s not shooting because he RUPTURED A FUCKIN NUT THIS CHRISTMAS😂😭😭I can’t imagine being able to take hard shots on net after something like that I hope he stays with the bottom 6 for the remainder of the season and maybe he makes a comeback next year
Bones needs to start healthy scratching the dead weight. Hate to sacrifice my #55 jersey but he's just not playing good enough to deserve 19 minutes while failing to register a shot. Maybe Bones tried and Chevy/Chipman intervened. Maybe Chevy shopped him to a few teams and now he's pissed.. who knows either way can't have a top-liner playing like this.
Is this the end of the Jets current core? YES PLEASE. We can only hope and pray, but Chevy has to go first – he has had his chance and has failed. Tear it down and start over. This team has been on life support since the over extended All Star break. Is it a coincidence that they have totally tanked since all of the regulars come back, but were winning and playing with heart when all the Moose replacements were in before that – methinks not. There is a serious problem in the core. I would cut Wheeler slack as he hasn't been the same after surgery after getting sacked (and he has lost of step with age), but Scheiflie has to go, he has been a problem in the past and is again – he is for sure one of the problems in the room. His bad play appears to have rubbed off on his line mate Kyle Connor. It is sad that PLD has been playing hurt with more effort (and is still injured) even though he wants out. Nino and Vlad were two good pick ups and I think are keepers. Lowry and Barron are keepers, but Chevy has to go. He has had ample time to make this team better and they have only been floundering. Time for a rebuild. Tear it down, keep a few of the decent pieces and start over. I would rather watch a team of Moose caliber players that want to play every night and give 100 percent than see million dollar players not being able to be motivated to play a game of hockey, especially with the playoffs on the line – something is very wrong with this team. The cancer in the room has cost Paul Maurice, Dave Lowry and will cost Bones his job – I truly feel for him, he has tried everything and he is not the problem.
Can't wait for a house cleaning. 55, 26 and pld need to go off season.
The jets do not deserve to be in the playoffs and will only be an embarassment to the city and province if they get in as they will get smoked in straight games by Vegas, LA, Colorado or Minnestoa. Calgary would have a better chance than the Jets. At least they have a power play and can score goals (but they may not keep them out). The Jets have no power play a lack of conscience (not trying), a lack of goal scoring and Helle is tired – he is letting softies in now every game. The only thing that still works with the jets is the penalty kill but that without scoring will not help them.
This team overachieved early n ppl got excited..truth is there not that good especially with wheeler in the top 6 he can’t win a puck battle has no creativity n may have the weakest shot in the league..if you can get a Kirby duch n a draft pick for Dubois that would be great but you can’t trade him n scheiffle without a number 1 centre coming back..I feel bad for hellybuck n morrisey who are doing everything they can..buy out wheeler trade pionk n get what you can for Dubois n it’s a retool

The second generation Jets will truly be a Jets 2.0 team without any ties to Atlanta. Kind of excited for the rebuild. No hope at this point with this core. Although I believe Wheeler should retire as a jet, he's always tried and gave us his prime leading us to a historic run.
I doubt it since I really believe that Chevy will use the Hellebuyck/Wheeler/Scheifele/Niederreiter/Dillon/DeMelo window to do the final push. Then there is the time to replace Chevy and let a different GM build the team around JMo, Perfetti, KC and Ehlers. I'm not actually convinced that both KC and Ehlers would sign another FA deals in WPG after their current deals expire but if we at least signed Perfetti to a maximal length deal, I'd be happy.
Prospects ok but, this team also needs at least one character guy. I am not suggesting to bring in goons but the team also lost a lot of grit and bite – especially during this season. Maroon, Kadri, Marchand just to name a few who made their team successfull. Ever since Big Buff was gone, there hasn't been that one guy on the team that hates losing so much that it makes him a total pain in the ass to play against. There is some worrying accaptance towards losing on this team.

Blake is late 30s 3rd liner, Scheifele,PLD,Stanley,Hellebuyck want out or last year of contracts do you want to give another 8yr deals til late 30s?

Push Lambert,Wagner, Lucius,Heinola,Aquire picks. Mcgroarty still will need more years NCAA.
Fill in extra spaces like some teams did this year sign players cheap retain salary and get more picks at deadline.
Chevy has got to go. Player’s that want out should get their wish. We’ve got a losing team so we might as well have some of the guys back up from the moose cause at least their work effort showed respect for the team and fans not to mention the team was winning with them. Get rid of CHEVY!!!
