    I has the sad…Man it's hard to see the official end of "the cup era." 2008-2009 is what brought me from kind of paying attention to the Hawks to being an all the time Hawks fan. Johnny was obviously a HUGE part of that. So many great memories from that era. We all know that it eventually has to end. We know it when it starts. But it doesn't make it any easier to deal with when it actually happens.

    How do you not at least offer this guy a 2 yr deal. I hope he goes on to play 2 more yrs if his health is there?

    Toews is so classy he would never voice any disappointment with the club in a moment like this. If he's happy I'm happy for him. Typical of him to call out some of his teammates who had already moved on I hope his health allows him to get back on the ice for a contender. It was an incredible long run he brought to the city. Thanks Jonny!!

    Wishing you all the best in the future in everything you decide to do. Thank you for the memories from day 1 till the very end. You will be missed on and off the ice. It will be strange not seeing you on the ice with your teammates. Thanks for helping us win the Stanley Cups memories that will last forever. Also thanks for a great career Captain Toews and hope the Blackhawks do something special for you in the coming years. Good luck to you always Jonathan.

    kings fan here so obviously seeing dustin retire was so damn painful even 40 50 games into this year I thought oh man WE NEED HIM BACK, So is Toews retiring or not? I can't watch the entire thing folks what is he talking about it sounds like another team 1 more push 4 a cup next year?

    Not a Hawks fan, but this man is a legend. I would have a lot more respect for the Hawks organization if they’d let him leave on his own terms, but it is a business. Really hope he continues to play if that’s his choice. He’s got gas left in the tank. Class act.

    Super successful, super wealthy . A GOAT for sure. Yet, he sits here with tremendous class and professionalism. My god what an amazing Hockey player and HUMAN BEING.
