I mean, ya. He’s never actually been with the Marlies this season lol

Never a bad insurance policy. Ideally if the Leafs get a large lead in a series id hope Wayne gets at least a couple of games.

Pat Maroon is gonna get hit by a 🚂

Tampa is going to Simmer down.

If he has to play in the playoffs, things would not be going well.

I was listening to Real Kyper and Bourne yesterday and they were talking about whether or not Knies draws in for Game 1. I want to say it was Luke Fox who suggested Simmonds instead. I was flabbergasted; but given this call-up and the fact Simmonds has been half decent recently, maybe there’s something to Fox’s take…

If Simmonds sniffs the ice in game 1 I’ll be disappointed.

If it’s game 3 and the team needs a spark, fine. But there’s no reason for him being Keefe’s choice right now over Knies.

But…why? If he’s back up for injury I get it. If he’s starting I’m going to think Keefe is nuts. Love Wayne, but I don’t think he’s had more then 1 impressive game all season. He’s just gotten into meaningless fights and taken atleast a penalty every game he played.

Y’all are underestimating the rat Corey Perry. I could see a scenario where we need Simmer to come in and punch his stupid rat face in

The nerds are gonna be in shambles but Wayne’s in my Game 1 lineup

Is it crazy to put Simmer in Game 1 to set the tone and just tell him to go balls to the walls and if a suspension happens, then it won’t matter because he’ll be sitting the following games anyways?

We know that these refs are delicate af when it comes to a player wearing a Maple Leaf trying to toe the line anyways so fuck it

Has the Wayne Train stolen Knies spot from the playoffs 😄

I wish they could have found a way to play him in the last regular season game against Tampa, that’s where he could have sent a message. Lafferty and Knies are better options off the hop but it’s nice having Simmonds in, in case Maroon starts running around however, I think Schenn proved he can handle Maroon, and then any one of McCabe, ZAR, Accari, Lafferty (if he is in) or maybe even Holl can handle Perry. I think I’d start Lafferty game 1, Knies, game 2 and go from there.

    Playoff depth.

Simmonds takes brutal penalties sometimes, but he is a vet with playoff experience.

    Solid backup.

  15. I wont say that he isn’t going to play in a playoff game but this was obviously going to happen. Wayne has spent 2/3 of the year in the minors and hasn’t played a single game in the AHL. He’s going to be part of team meetings, travel with the team and be insurance if guys like ZAR and Acciari get hurt

I am gonna fucking pissed if this guy is in the line up ..Keefe up to his galaxy braining again

  17. Coolsbreeeze

Choo-fucking-choo boys! The Wayne train is back for the playoffs!

  18. xtzferocity

I’ll be surprised if he gets into a game
