  1. Players like McCann and Vergaghe in Florida just reinforce for me how much talent there is around the league that might just be blocked on the depth charts. Maybe give it til 2030 or so then drop four new teams – Quebec in the Atlantic, Atlanta in the Metro, Houston in the Central and maybe Portland in the Pacific? There's be enough talent to fill out plus the NHL would probably bank a billion per expansion team.

  2. Groob is a back-up? It's going to be a Ray Bourque Stanley Cup…Colorado v Boston and the team that loses the fewest players to injury getting there will take it.

  3. I think the Seattle goals agianst average is deceptive. Seattle has the 14th best GAA, which isn't great, but that's despite well below league-average goaltending (30th place!). If they had league-average goaltending, which they've actually been getting the past few weeks, then it's not impossible that Seattle's already-good defense (2nd fewest shots against per game, 4th fewest scoring chances against, and top-10 in limiting high-danger chances against) to prevent the puck from going in. Additionally, the 76.7% PK looks bad until you remember that it was like 67% at the beginning of the calendar year, so it's much better now than it was

  4. If the Colorado plays all out for a full three periods, I don't see the Kraken getting very far. Hopefully, Makar is back fir this series, but I think they win even if he isn't. The hype trying effect then as much as it will the Kraken, so that is one more thing in their favor.

  5. Seattle's goaltending will be in question, but Jones has a tendency to get hot at times and has 3 shutouts to his credit this season. The question will be whether Hakstoll will have the guts to start him ahead of Gru, who hasn't shown us too much this year. (again).

  6. I'd give my own whatever part of Burakovsky's lower body got injured for him to be healthy enough to play ;(

  7. Seattle is likely to be the biggest roadblock for the avs before the wcf. I dont think Minnesota or Dallas beats them, but the first time playoff hype from a team that can score is going to make Seattle a tough out

  8. Yeah my favorite Westy the Kraken..love their balanced team and how far they came this year however winning a couple games would be nice. If the team shows up that we had around in early winter maybe, but no Burakovsky so that hurts..but overall can't see an upset here.

  9. I think Seattle is a good test for Colorado in that the Avs can't continue their up and down play within the game cuz they'll get burned. And the teams after Seattle will just make them pay even more for that play. Avs in 5

  10. Avs were very good I to the end of the season and that was without Makar, Manson and Lekhonen. ALL will be back for game 1 so Avs get a big bump there. But also it’s just really cool to play against the Kraken in their first ever play off series. Historic series.

  11. We have been injured all Season and still Won the Division. Win, Win for the AVS. We didn’t have our Captain pretty much all Season. We find a way to Win!

  12. I think the bigger challenge for Colorado will be Dallas in round 2. Stars are a team that is heavily slept on, I could easily see them going to the conference final against the Oilers.

  13. Colorado is my pick but I don't think we're doing anything like sweeping the Kraken.

  14. Some people sleep on beds. Some people sleep on couches. And some people sleep on the SEATTLE KRAKEN!!!!!

  15. Even without Landeskog the Avs should make it to at least the conference final. And I wouldn’t bet against them there either.

  16. The question for this series isn't who's going to win, it's how competitive will it be

  17. Toews is an under appreciated asset for the Avs. Smart, experienced defenseman who adds a nice offensive push in unexpected ways. Should be a great series with a very tough Kraken team.
