  1. Hopefully soon to be former head coach John Hynes

With Hynes at the podium, unless they’re promoting him out of the HC spot, he ain’t getting fired today. Probably just an end of season announcement.

  3. roham_josi

Looks like one more year of Hynes. Yaaaaaaay

  4. pacersrule

Looks like the young players doing well saved Hynes job.

I feel like I’m a bad guy in a Scooby Doo episode.

If it wasn’t for those meddling kids we would have gotten away with it

  5. Striking_Arm_69

He’s 100% staying, he somehow saved his job despite not making the playoffs.

  6. Beatse21

He’s staying. I’m not a big fan of it but it’s not surprising. He got career years out of Josi, Forsberg and Duchene last year. Then this year almost made the playoffs with a basically an AHL roster.

Sorry, but Hynes’ coaching didn’t save the season. Blowing up expectations and bringing in young guys fighting to be in the NHL did. I can’t stand another year of 20-40 games like this year with no offense but IDENTITY!

The owners are cheap and don’t want to pay for
    Two coaches that’s the truth

As much as I believe a new voice is the way to go, a coaching change, with this roster, isn’t going to push us over the hump. I can understand not wanting to spend the money to buy out Hynes’ contract and then having to pay a new hire to coach a roster that is in flux.

Saros being the God he is saved his job. Really should not have been in it the defense was very leaky this year, especially after the trade deadline, and have an awful offensive attack that man was indeed too good right now. The kids did play great though.

I’m just gonna throw this out there because I’m well aware that a majority of you don’t want to hear it.

When Hynes was hired here, he came with a reputation of being excellent at motivating young players to produce.
I’m well aware that he dropped the ball with Tolvanen and a few others by seemingly doing the opposite.
I’m just saying that he does have that reputation around the league.

Just like many of you, I’m not willing to make the jump as to assume that our young players producing is due to his ability to motivate them. But it makes complete sense that management would give him another shot with this in mind. Of course, the only way to know if it is a mistake is to see if the production continues next season.

Don’t get all bent out of shape on me. Chances are, I agree with you. But ultimately we can’t argue with the decision of giving him another shot with the youngins popping off and that previous reputation.

Announcing our new captain, Cole Smith

  13. BigMACfive

Welp, considering Hynes is likely staying now, I’ll see yall in October… 2024.

  14. Minionhunter

Unless Trotz is gonna ride Hynes’ back like a monkey all next season I don’t want it

Anyone have a quick breakdown of what’s been said/announced? I’m at work and can’t watch/listen.
